His train was known to be due to pass through a station and someone planted a bomb —A REALLY ENORMOUS BOMB— there for him.
It was set to go off at the proper time, alas Jong Il altered his schedule suddenly and his train travel was suddenly made safe:
The explosion took out maybe 6 full city blocks.
