For me the critical issue in any appointment is are they strict constructionist or not. If they seem to waffle on that issue, they are not to be trusted. Words and intent have meaning. Besides, there is a path to change the constitution, it is called an amendment. Most of the amendments of note have led to the problems we have now IMO. The popular election of senators 17th and the 16th amendment of particular concern. The fact we do not follow the tenth is also of particular concern.

Affirmative action is no criterion for a Supreme Court Justice who will shape our Nation for 30 years. Appalling suggestion. The Libs will whine & carry on whoever is picked so that is not part of the equation.
I detest identity politics. Why not just select the most qualified available? Also, I do not remember the libs cutting Clarence Thomas much slack when he was picked. Remember Anita Hill and the pubic hair on the Coke can?
