He's not loyal to Syria or Assad. He's covetous of a position and bases in the middle east. When he determines that ASsad is a liability to his ambitions Putin will turn on him in a New York minute. Which, thanks to obama, he now has. Russia now has a presence in Syria and thanks to Iran it now has access to both the Med and the Persian Gulf.

No, screw ISIS, but this unnecessary bombing makes things very difficult. This becomes the extension of the Clinton/McCain insanity. With no Russia and no Assad, the alternative is another piece of caliphate and bloodbath at the pleasure of ISIS and every other faction. The United States need not own Syria nor be their saviors. Russia historically has been their ally and protector. Russia bombing a US airfield in Iraq would be unthinkable for many reasons. Why is this our business? We seem to be unraveling the Mideast country by country for what, democracy, so they don't attack us here, nation building? If Obama or Clinton did this, I would be enraged. I still have seen no proof Assad even was guilty of the atrocity.
