Secretary of State Tillerson: ‘Steps Are Under Way’ to Remove Bashar Al-Assad From Power in Syria
Brietbart News ^ | April 6, 2017, | Pam Key

On Thursday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said “steps are under way” to form an international coalition to remove the president of Syria Bashar al-Assad after Tuesday’s chemical bombings in Syria.

Partial transcript as follows:

TILLERSON: Well obviously, the events that have occurred in Syria with the chemical weapons attack here in the past day I think have just horrified all of us and brought to the front pages and to our television screens as well the tragedy that is part of the Syrian conflict. There is no doubt in our mind and the information we have supports that Syria, the Syrian regime under the leadership of Bashar al-Assad are responsible for this attack and I think further it’s very important that the Russian government consider carefully their continued support for the Assad regime.

REPORTER: Does Assad have to go?

TILLERSON: Assad’s role in the future is uncertain and with the acts that he has taken, it would seem that there would be no role for him to govern the Syrian people.

REPORTER: And what steps is the United States prepared to take in order to remove him from power?

TILLERSON: The process by which Assad would leave I think requires an international community effort.

REPORTER: So will you and President Trump organize an international coalition to remove Assad?

TILLERSON: Those steps are under way.

REPORTER: Has President Trump been talking about that with other leaders.

TILLERSON: We are considering an appropriate response which violates all previous U.N. resolutions, violates international norms and long-held agreements between parties including the Syrian regime, the Russian government and all other members of the U.N. Security Council. It’s a serious matter. It requires a serious response. Thank you.

Really?

Can we get a good reason why, please?

Otherwise this administration just ate a huge @$*& sandwich and didn’t bat an eye.

As mentioned earlier: Freepers beware of stealth antiTrumper posters coming out of the woodwork on this matter.

Remove Assad from power?

Hmmm, where have I heard that one before?

Trump better be right about Assad’s ordering of the gas attack. This level of pie on face would be hard to wash off, if he didn’t.

The best unreported news would be that we are working with Russia (quietly undisclosed) to clean the islam trash from Syria and keep them pacified.

Assad never should have let the islams reproduce and teach their evil unfettered.

The basis for the accusation that Assad used the Satin was eyewitnesses. Who saw the planes. In the dark of night.

Or depends on what you mean by America. If you work in defense related industry it is good. Depending on the escalation, it might make the oil markets competitive again.

Apparently the Israelis know the name of the Syrian pilot who dropped the Saran gas bombs. This really is a Syrian attack and not a false flag.

Look, remember who has just come to visit— Gen Sisi of Egypt and King Abdullah of Jordan. Trump has gotten an earful from these leaders and probably knows a lot more by now than we do. I trust Gen Mattis. Don't lose sight of the fact that Trump and his team know a lot more than we do. Maybe the Russians have been interfering in our country a lot longer than we think—is it an accident that Obama and most of his crew, including the CIA Chief, had Communist backgrounds?

How about let the Syrians vote
Again
They elected him twice
Oh wait the will of the people is just too slow
And we don’t want the guy they’d elect again ( Assad)
Let’s pick their government for them
It’s working so well in Libya
And Iraq and Afghanistan are shining examples of western democracy
On to Yemen
Where saudi CW attacks have been ignored
