The problem for most of us is that we grew up Liberal vs Conservative. The lexicon was hijacked.

Now very few people remember the previous meaning.

Trying to educate so many people to try to regain the previous meaning is probably a wasted effort.

While this may be a downer, there are other ways to explain what you want to.

Exactly, and the elites use that to divide us. It explains why working class men ally themselves with moochers and college leftists. As long as we think in a Liberal/Conservative mindset, the elites win. You see it here on FR as much as you see it over on DU or PuffHo. Someone says one thing that is what “those people say” and they are discredited instantly. Goresuch goes to an Episcopal Church and people were doubting that he is a good candidate for SCOTUS, not because of anything he said, or the theology of his church, but for the politics of the hierarchy of the church.

Liberal and Conservative mean nothing these days, but people can be easily manipulated by those two words.

I know you’ll disagree, but Liberal and Conservative mean quite a bit these days. They just don’t mean what you wish they did any longer.

The media bastardizes both.

We know that John McCain and the GOPe aren’t Conservatives.

They judge anything right of Jane Fonda to be card carrying Conservative. Nope.

Liberals, Leftists, Communists, Socialists..., they’ve come to be attached to Marxism and the Leftist ideologues.

It’s just the way it is.

Doesn’t the homunculus even know that, considering the makeup of the whole legislature then, even if there had been hearings, Garland WOULD HAVE LOST?!

I’m glad the Dems got all negative and pissy about Gorsuch. It pretty much gives the Republicans a free pass when it comes to the next appointment — of a staunch conservative.
