Syrian gas incident caused by rebels' own chemical weapons: Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW, April 5 (Xinhua) -- The Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that the deadly gas contamination in Syria's northwestern province of Idlib was caused by the explosion of chemical weapons produced by the rebels.

Media reports said about 70 people were killed with 200 others wounded Tuesday in a toxic gas attack by Syrian warplanes on the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun.

Syrian air force delivered a strike on the eastern outskirts of Khan Sheikhoun against a large ammunition depot and a cluster of military equipment belonging to terrorists, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a statement.

"On the territory of this depot, there were workshops for the production of land mines stuffed with poisonous substances," he said.

Konashenkov said terrorists used chemical weapons from this depot in Iraq and the Syrian city of Aleppo. On Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson urged Russia and Iran to exercise influence on Syria to prevent further chemical attacks in the war-torn country.

White House Spokesman Sean Spicer said the United States condemns the gas attack against innocent civilians as "heinous actions" by the Syrian government.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that the Syrian army did not possess any kind of chemical weapons.

The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting later on Wednesday to discuss the suspected chemical attack in Syria.

I would not be at all surprised if John McCain did it personally.

“Is Trump getting sucked into acting against Assad based on a false flag operation?”

I believe when the Syrian army blew up the ammunition dump, there were chemical weapons that the opposition forces had stashed there. Dropping gas on civilians down from the sky when you are winning the war, makes no sense, as I stated the first time I heard this incident occurred. I still believe that.

This all makes sense, really. Assad is winning the war against the US back terrorists, so they need world sympathy. So by staging an attack against the Syria people, the ones they are supposed to be fighting for (But in reality are killing) they will get the UN on their side. No doubt the Rogue CIA is playing a part in all this.

Yes. Intel community connected to Saudi interests that want Assad gone. In my opinion, Jordan & Israel also want him gone if possible. He allows Iran access to those cou tries via hezbollah and quds.

Russia wants Syrian port and Iranian trade.

ISIS & Al Qaeda hate America, but are not friends of Iran.

So, killing Isis kills our enemies and Russia’s but helps Iran.

I would do kill isis but then I would want Syria to remain weak under a weakened Assad.

I hope not. I for one am willing to believe that the terrorist group ISIS would store chemical weapons in a manner that would get others killed

But truly either way I don’t give a fig. I prefer Assad to ISIS

I remember a time, I was a youngster, when I believed my country told me the truth.

Then the Gulf of Tonkin, Kennedy’s Assassination, Mura Building, 9-11, Ruby Ridge, Waco, and on and on and on.

It is truly frightening that we can no longer believe anything. Even the attack on Pearl Harbor may have been mitigated if intelligence had arrived in time. Was the delay intentional or just a set of unfortunate errors?

Who are we trusting for the intel?

Would you risk your life that they are accurate?

I wouldn’t.

Nonsense?

Consider this logically:

1) who stands to gain by a chemical attack on rebel fighters, and children? Certainly not Assad and the Russians. Assad was winning

2) our intel agencies are compromised, and working at the behest of the deep state...same group that is trying to destroy Trump, and lead us further into conflict with the Russians

3) Chinese and Russian news agencies are reporting that these chemical weapons were being stored in a rebel facility and were leaked when the facility was bombed

Considering 1 and 2 above, #3 is more believable than the narrative currently being passed around in Washington.

I don’t trust anyone in this country.

I just shut off Fox News, because Megan McCain was flapping around like a giant fat hen clucking about how horrible this is and Syria is spiraling out of control and blah, blah, blah.

I have the distinct impression that someone somewhere wants me whipped into a frenzy this morning.

Nope.

The assumption was made that President Bashar Assad ordered the poison gas attack Tuesday. Now a different picture is emerging. You know what they say about the word “assume.” It makes an ass out of u and me. I hope Trump sees through the flack.

The same actors staged a CW attack in 2013 to try and push obama over his stupid red line he was probably suckered into announcing

Even obama wouldn’t bite back then

Now it looks like Trump is being set up to show the neocons and Brits he is “ the man” and to go after Assad

If he does There goes trust of the Russians that trump ever meant what they hoped for - and what those of us who voted for him thought he was smart and brave enough to do
