At his CEO Business Town Hall Tuesday, President Donald Trump returned to his campaign promise to end the highly unpopular Common Core standards and once again make education policy the domain of local governments. Common Core, I mean, we have to bring education more local, Trump said at the White House. We cant be managing education from Washington.
The president continued:
When I go out to Iowa, when I go out to the different states and I talk, they want to run their school programs locally and theyll do a much better job And I like the fact of getting rid of Common Core. You know, Common Core, to me, we have to end it. We have to bring education local, to me. Ive always said it, Ive been saying it during the campaign, and were doing it.
This month, concerns had arisen about Trumps commitment to his oft-repeated campaign promise to end Common Core. Toward the tail end of his campaign, Trumps message shifted from the termination of the controversial standards to school choice.

We also need to weed out these anti-American teachers that are teaching anti-American sentiment.
Just end the NEA and it will work itself out. :-)
Draw a line above the school Principal’s head, and eliminate the swamp from there all the way to DC...
Were it that easy. Today’s teachers were mostly all reprogrammed at their teaching colleges. Same for most administrators. The progressive mindset runs deep and wide in our government education industry.
It's such a problem with so many "professionals" in teaching. A lot of them don't agree with the mind-bending venom in Common Core. But they're so afraid for their jobs that they teach it without much input to disagree with the content. They're total slaves to the from-on-high curriculum. A lot of the youngest teachers got their Education degrees learning how to implement the provided materials without any individual input. I'm not sure they'd all know how to write a test, quiz, or lesson plan that wasn't provided for them.
It'll be tough to turn around. First step would be to end "teacher training". That's how teachers are kept indoctrinated.
JMHO
Common core was one of the reasons the RINOs lost the POTUS nomination.
However, Oklahoma was among the first to wisely abandon the idea after it was usurped by the Federal Department of Education. This is simply one of a long list of examples where liberals poisoned an otherwise sensible idea.
President Trump: “You know, Common Core, to me, we have to end it.”
FReepers: YUGE STANDING OVATION!!!
Keep out da Bushes.
