The UN Security Council is to hold emergency talks after an alleged chemical attack in Syria left dozens of civilians dead and wounded.

The release of chemicals in a rebel-held town in Idlip province brought furious international reaction.

Officials in Damascus deny opposition and Western claims that they used chemical weapons.

Russia's defence ministry said a Syrian air strike had hit a rebel ammunition store that included chemical weapons.....

In a statement, US President Donald Trump condemned what he called "these heinous actions" by the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson accused the Syrian government of "brutal unabashed barbarism"......

The propaganda machine of the Saudi backed jihadist al-Qaeda opposition in Syria geared up 24 hours ago with video purporting to show the results of a chemical attack on an opposition area.

A report that cannot be 'independently verified' as many media reports state.

And yet the President of the United States and the Secretary of State seem to echo the propaganda of the jihadists in Syria.

Meanwhile, the Russians are saying according to the BBC:

"Russia says that chemical gas that killed and injured dozens of civilians in a rebel-held town in northern Syria came from rebel weapons on the ground."

My observation of the situation is along the lines that the USA is 20 trillion dollars in the hole, planning to go 35 trillion in the hole.

There's foreign money out there from Asia and the Gulf Arab nations holding our country's finances up.

So perhaps that makes this whole pro-jihadist policy in Syria a necessity.

But behind Syria is Russia and I seriously believe the Arab Spring Cabal opened a second front on the Russians in Ukraine in 2014.

As Obama left office and Trump started NATO forces deployed behind the 'second front' in Eastern Europe.

This situation is disturbing and could escalate because the people behind the Syrian Civil War want Assad out and Russia doesn't.

Barack Obama is hanging out in Tahiti, heck maybe he knows where to hide when the 'stuff' hits the fan.

Wait a minute, does this mean we have another in a series of 4,673 UN condemnations against Israel for the Syrian gassing?

I know. They’ve been very ineffective. Now, with Russian troops on the ground, though, and putin feeling successful and able to Veto anything at the UN, nothing will likely come of this. Those who fear Assad will be held accountable needn’t worry.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Trump’s not going to start a war with Russia.

The release of chemicals in a rebel-held town in Idlip province brought furious international reaction.

This is such a laugh. All those dead Syrian bodies piling up that were killed by bullets and indiscriminate bombings produce a yawn, but damn if you kill someone with chemicals, now that is outrageous.

Your statement is not without merit.

Saudi Arabia, it seems, laughs at the graves at my friends who died on 9/11.

I have to assume that American govt officials laugh too because they sleep with the sauds so much i’m surprised they’re not pregnant by them.

Your debt calculations seem about right too.

SO disappointed in the response. Hope Trump is just giving lip service.

Neocons on this board sicken me to no end.

They LOVE sending others to die for nonsense.

I don’t know why you are getting so worked up. Trump is not going to invade Syria over this.

A gas attack killed dozens? Give me a break. They are in the middle of a civil war. I’m sure more people got killed buy bullets that day.

Susan Rice distracts us from the war clouds in Syria.

Obama’s policies in Syria were criticized yesterday.

O stopped short of using military force in Syria when chemical weapons were reported used in 2013.

Does this mean military action in Syria soon?

This whole thing is really pegging my BS meter. Gas attacks and bombing hospitals and false flags and staging victims are known tactics of terrorists. The first Assad "gas attack" that crossed Odummy's red line was suspected by Michael Flynn of being a false flag. Assad was recently pushing back ISIS and reclaiming territory since the Obama is no longer supplying them. UN, global governments and media had this story ready to push.

There's an awful lot to this story that is illogical. It is established fact that global governments and media lie constantly about everything. Color me a skeptic.

If he wants to toss words around that’s fine, but Obama was criticized yesterday over Syria by the POTUS.

Obama was looking like he would use force against Syria over the use of chemical weapons in 2013, then backed off when a deal was concluded to remove them from the country and the removal occurred.

I’ve heard the “Arab Spring” anti-Assad people say Obama was too timid and weak in dealing with Syria as an issue considering all that came out of it like ISIS.

It seems to me the timidity of Obama in Syria would include the notion of backing off from using military force over chemical weapons in 2013.

We are now talking about the use of chemical weapons in Syria with the POTUS denouncing their use and saying Obama fouled up policy on Syria.

What’s next that’s different from Obama’s policy?

This is just another of Assad’s many “False Flag” poison gas attacks.

I pray for the POTUS and voted for him last year.

I am hoping for a change in policy on matters ranging from the land use issues the Bundy’s have protested about out West and all this anti-Russia bullying and posturing.

Peace is often a much better route and North Korea seems like a big fish to fry alongside the notion of “Putting America First” and not getting involved in wars all over the world.

Condemning the use of chemical weapons is fine. If Assad ordered it, it was not very smart. He should kill the rebels with bullets. The UN doesn’t get hysterical when only bullets and explosives are used.

Obviously, fighting a war against NK is not what anyone would want. Letting NK attack SK, Japan, or the USA, would make it a war of necessity, not choice. I’m fully confident President Trump will not launch a war with NK for any reason but to defend the USA and our allies.

Active death camps in NK make it a war of necessity. The kidnap of dozens of Japanese citizens from Japanese soil makes it a necessity. The torpedoing of a SK destroyer with 46 dead makes it a necessity.
In a world where people crow “never again”, there is a nation with death camps. They are actively trying to build a deliverable nuke.

North Korea not being attacked because it will be nasty, is like not getting surgery for you cancer because you are afraid of surgery.

This “attack” is false flag crap from rebel territory. Might as well be a radio Berlin press release in 1944.
