"The president’s approval rating has sunk as low as 35 percent, according to a Gallup daily poll"

Donald Trump's still President; Gorsuch is getting confirmed. Democrats don't have much else other than clinging to polls, which didn't exactly work out well for them in November 2016. This is how you know Trump is winning.

You nailed it! They are at a loss as to what to do so they grasp at straws.

McConnell downplayed the potential impact on the Senate, arguing that a rule change would return the Senate to its tradition of not filibustering judicial nominees.

Exactly! Filibusters were once a rare thing. Demanding 60 votes on everything is the true violation of Senate traditions. Getting rid of the filibuster only returns the Senate to regular order. Go for it!

Left to me, I’d nuke the entire demonic-rat party and I’d start in the US Senate with its evil, nasty, schemer Minority Leader.

Doomed to go downhill since the 17th amendment, which put Senators into the vote buying business just like the House of Representatives.

{Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told reporters that whoever thinks the Senate will be a “better place” after the nuclear option “is a stupid idiot.”}

The Senate won’t be a better lace, Senator. It will be much much worse, and you’ll be miserable. Maybe it’s time to quit your “lifetime appointment” to the Senate and resign.

The very same people who voted for the “nuclear option” are now saying Republicans should not do the same thing because of the destructive consequences it would cause to the Senate and that Republicans would be reckless to do such a thing. They’re clearly lying and they even announced they would be doing the same thing to get Hillary’s nominees confirmed just prior to the election, because they fully expected Hillary to win and they would also win back control of the Senate. Yet this article is written as though their words have credibility. They have none and should be ignored. What exactly is the difference between voting for confirmation on cabinet nominees and lower court judicial nominees? None - it is the same process - and the Democrats already blew up the rule. It’s over. Let’s not pretend otherwise and just do it and get this man confirmed to the Supreme Court - the Democrats would be doing the same thing if this were in reverse and they even said they would be doing so when they thought they were going to win.

Trump doesn’t care if they do go nuclear to get Gorsuch confirmed. It is a trivial concern much less than going nuclear.

He’s right. Just another press event reported to increase viewership.
