The last looney tunes proposal I read was that if the GOP promises not to use the filibuster next time, the Dems won’t filibuster this time......

translation:

“If you promise not to shoot us next time, we won’t make you shoot us this time.”

Dems use these tactics because the GOP typically falls for them.

The lunatic liberals are offering a deal from a position of weakness. They spouted, “Elections have consequences.” Let them live with that. No deals. They wouldn’t deal if situations were reversed.

I was glad to read this column this morning. It echoed the thoughts I posted yesterday that led to some interesting dialog across several threads.

The only deal we should make is that if they force the nuclear option we will also use it to retire Kennedy and replace with a 40 something, and the big disaster would also to replace Ginsburg with a 40 something. How long do they think the old bat has?

Deal: If Republicans agree that Schumer will select the next Supreme Court appointment, Democrats will permit Republicans to keep Gorsuch.

There are currently 126 vacant federal judgeships.

The Trump administration needs to get nominees chosen and into the committee pipeline ASAP. This is almost as important as getting Gorsuch on the bench.

For these lower court appointees, the nuclear option is already in place (thank you Dirty Harry Reid) so they should sail through the process, and that is where many of these horrible rulings begin.

The only intelligent thing to do is for the Democrats to come up short on this filibusterer saving the option for the next appointment.
