Ideally infants and toddlers should go barefoot as much as possible. Humans were not meant to wear shoes.. Yes, necessary in our civilized world but why rush into it?

If the kid is doing okay, I don’t have a problem with it.

I do think there are always things around the home you don’t want the kid stepping on bare-foot. I know folks can kid-proof their home, but there’s always something going on to void that effort.

An animal can track something in or move something in a way that compromises the kid’s safety.

Young kids can also pull a toy’s wheels over their own feet and harm themselves. A plastic siding can be more sharp than you’d think if it slips past feet and toes.

At any rate, I’m not totally against your take, but I do think there are some things to think about.
