She lied about her sexual orientation to enter the Air Force. She came on active duty BEFORE DADT, which meant she lied to get in. But she’ll say “I didn’t know who I really was before a few years ago”. She was “selected” to lead the AFA by an Obama-appointee UnderSecretary of the AF, only days before President Trump’s new Secretary of the Air Force will be sworn in. She was selected for promotion to BG only a few weeks ago. You have to be a general officer to lead the AFA. This is the Obama deep state trying to pull a fast one. This is kicking dirt in the face of the new president. No “Acting Secretary” should ever be allowed to make this call knowing full well she’s only there in a caretaker status until replaced. Trump and Mattis can see right through this. The question is will they have the courage to not care when the attacks come from the liberals because they certainly will if this appointment is not allowed to proceed.
The Commandant of the US Air Force Academy does not go through Senate confirmation. This person selected does have to get senate confirmation for promotion to BG. She is now an a full colonel. She would be appointed by the Secretary of the Air Force. The “acting” Secretary, appointed by Obama as UnderSecretary selected this person. Trump’s new Secretary of the AF has not been confirmed yet. She would have never in a million years made this selection. The person making the decision was only there to answer the phones. She knew damn well she was on the way out. This is the Obama deep state in all it’s glory.
Just did some research. The Commandant of the AFA and the Superintendent are not one in the same. The Commandant is in charge of cadets and the Superintentent has overall command. I have no idea who makes the selection. Probably the Superintendent. But I have no idea. I retired a lowly NCO. I know one thing. This is nonsense from the Obama people who are still trying to run things in the DOD.

Was homosexuality a disqualification in place during Clinton, but removed? What about during GW Bush?
Do you expect that Trump will opt to expend the political capital, to reinstate homosexuality as a disqualification in the military, in view of American attitudes now?
During his confirmation hearings Mattis’ comments about homosexuals serving sounded like a democrat. I don’t think it bothers him a bit that the 4000 cadets at the Air Force Academy will be under the control of a lesbian who has a “wife” and two children. I think Trump will do what Mattis recommends to him, which will probably be nothing. Hope I’m wrong.
