Recovery of Brady's stolen jersey and the press

Donald Trump was right.

You can't trust reporters. They'll take the shirt off your back.

Or in this case, they'll take the jersey out of your travel bag, if not your back, the way they did to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

It amounted to the same thing the day that the awesome, relic-like, sweat-stained jersey No. 12 went missing.

It was like losing a priceless Picasso or a Chagall painting, Patriots owner Bob Kraft said of the missing jersey, falling just short of comparing the caper to the great Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist back in 1990.

This is a clear indication that the Media is a part of the new artistocracy. This reporter, for a Mexican paper La Prenza, steals an item valued at $500,000 to $1,000,000.

He is caught because of security cameras.

His punishment? He is fired. No criminal charges are mentioned.

Consider what would have happened had he not been a reporter.

IMO, it’s nothing but dirty laundry. Much the same for his stinky socks and jock strap. But one man’s trash is another’s treasure. Or rather a fool and his money if someone thinks it’s worth a million.

According to a third generation farmer whose land butts up against the Rio Grande.

Mexicans steal. It's how they were raised to survive. You can't really fault them for it.

He would go across the river and offer to buy the stolen items from la policia and they would be returned in a few days.

Does anyone else wish they’d spend as much time and sweat going after major drug dealers (not the low levels they throw under the jail) or illegal immigrant murderers? Easy money grabbed under forfeiture laws have produced bulging jails and no arrests of the big guys in crime.
