They can invite Comey and Rogers with no assurance they will appear. They can subpoena and then Comey and Rogers et al can invoke security and the 5th.
This invitation exposes the resistance of the Dems, but it does not assure they will participate.
Look how they treat Putin’s denials: “Putin and Trump are on the same page.”
The Deep State has power and an unbreakable game. If Trump does anything involving the power of his office, he will give credence to the fascist meme.
The only forward movement I see is the exchange of witness lists.

Why have the 7 other senior officials not looked at it? Because they know it supports Trump and his allegations.
If they had any inkling that it would implicate Trump, they would be pushing little old ladies into the garbage to get there first and leak it. They aren’t. Why not?
1. The Democrats are seeking to completely legitimize Trump. Their motive is easy.
2. The GOP Leadership is NOT supportive of Trump. They dislike him nearly as much the Dems. They are more than willing to let him twist in the wind so they can fool themselves into thinking they have the upper hand, politically.
3. The Main Stream Media is driving the bus for this little adventure. The Democrats are telling them what roads to take and how fast to drive. The GOP is sitting in the back of the bus facing backwards. They have no clue where they are going.
Nunes will be marginalized and silenced.
Trump will have to declassify extremely sensitive information in order to expose the lawbreaking. Not sure he has the stomach to go all in on this.
