I discovered that all the network channels were fake news in 1968 after my first tour in Viet Nam and quit watching all 3 networks news programs. For some reason I didn’t relate 60 minutes to the news division and continued to watch. However, in 1981, while working with a food service company, I watched a 60 minutes piece on Salmonella in food. It was garbage. This was further verified the next week when I was meeting with an FDA official who had been on the interview. His piece was 10 seconds of an hour interview they did with him. Haven’t watched them since.
Through veterans associations, and friendships we got a lot of people writing letters to CBS and the FCC, but it didn't do squat. Instead of being shamed he got awards and more glory. Had there been an internet then things would have been different.
To listen to some prick that had the privilege to fly in and out anytime he wanted and at most had spent a week there say the War was lost was a pile of shit.
I never cared for news after that. Then came 60 minutes and the Clintons. Which showed that the media was all in for anyone but a Republican.
