Lawmaker calls on NC secretary of state to resign over notary IDs

Raleigh, N.C. — A Republican North Carolina lawmaker is calling on Democratic Secretary of State Elaine Marshall to resign or face impeachment over her handling of notary public licenses, but Marshall says the move is politically motivated.

Rep. Chris Millis, R-Pender, held a press conference Tuesday at the Legislative Building.

"If the secretary chooses not to resign, I will proceed with all legislative actions, including a resolution for impeachment," Millis said.

Millis said his investigation began last September, when he "came across an article that reported that the North Carolina secretary of state may have commissioned illegal immigrants as notaries public – a direct conflict with state and federal law."

He said he received 1,700 pages of documents in response to his request in February for documents on file of notary public license applications. His review of the documents leads him to believe that 320 people who do not legally reside in the United States have been commissioned as notaries public over the past nine years, he said.

Pretty good article. Farther down, it talks about how notaries vouch for absentee ballots, so there’s the possibility of illegal alien notaries approving illegal alien votes.

“She is the epitome of what is turning NC blue. She is from Maryland and carpetbagged to NC”

They are like termites who have “migrated” all over this country. Between the New England Marxists and the Mexican illegals, It’s small wonder we here in California are where we are today. And that also goes for the liberal $hit that’s running the Silicon Valley.
And we think the Muslims are bad! These people have been at this far longer than the muzzies.

He should never threaten impeachment. File the papers and let them be surprised.

In the 5th paragraph in the article below - this has been going on for NINE years! She is still defending her position and doesn’t think she did anything wrong.

they should really look into this. Notary public means a whole different thing in Mexico and could be construed as such by an illegal immigrant population

..,.. 1,700 pages of filed documents of notary public license apps leads the lawmaker to believe that 320 people who do not legally reside in the US have been commissioned as notaries public over the past nine years.....

Appears official govt documents have been falsified. Keep in mind falsifying documents is the criminal MO to covr-up larger crimes.

Falsifying Government Documents involves altering, changing, or modifying a document for the purpose of deception.......can also involve forgery and/or passing copies of false documents. Falsifying documents is usually done in connection with broader criminal aims, such as extortion, government fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, financing terrorism........

Types of documents commonly falsified may include:
◾Tax returns and income statements
◾Personal checks
◾Bank account records
◾Business record keeping books
◾Immigration documents (such as visas, passports, etc.)
◾Identification cards and birth certificates

Many different types of acts can be considered as falsifying a document, including:
◾Altering or misrepresenting factual information such as prices or monetary amounts
◾Stating false information when requested to provide truthful statements
◾Forging a signature
◾Using official letterheads without authorization
◾Concealing assets or property WRT obtaining federal/state grants))
◾Knowingly using or distributing a fake document

A person can only be held criminally liable if they are deliberately acting with the intention of deceiving or defrauding another party.

Falsifying govt documents is a very serious offense and is generally classified as a felony. This means that a person charged with falsifying documents may be subject to the following legal penalties:
◾Having to pay a monetary fine
◾Incarceration in a prison facility

Depending on the gravity of the offense, as well as individual state laws, falsifying documents can result in a prison sentence of 5-10 years. Also, if government documents or authorities were involved, the legal penalties may be more severe. ..... legal penalties may increase with repeat offenses.

The penalty for falsifying government documents is outlined in the Crimes Act of 1958.
