As far as competence is concerned, the presidency has a learning curve under the best of circumstances. Trump is finding his feet. He'll be fine.

“Trump is finding his feet. He’ll be fine.”

+1

I just posted similar sentiments on another thread. We’re 65 days in! We should still be DRUNK with JOY at having DEFEATED, ‘She Who Shall Not Be Named’ so resoundingly!!

Man, Oh. Man. We CANNOT let The Enemy into our heads so early in the game. Of course, keep an EYE on them, but don’t INVITE them in when we just showed them the door! :)

Trump needs to get his people into place. He can't control his own administration, let alone set the national agenda, with nothing more than the cabinet secretaries, Ivanka, Jared, Spicer and Bannon. Are any of the subcabinet folks confirmed? How many Schedule C's are on board? Right now, career civil servants are Acting. Most of them are fine people who will loyally serve any administration. They will do so with more or less enthusiasm depending on their own politics, but they value their professionalism, they've served presidents of both parties, and they want to do a good job. But they are still the team assembled by the last administration, most of them are Democrats, most of them are not ideologically in sympathy with Trump, and without close direction, they will certainly not be change agents. They will dutifully maintain the status quo and keep the routine business flowing. (It would, frankly, be improper for them to do more.) But I don't think that's what Trump came to Washington to do.
