The Ontario County Sheriffs Office reports that two people are accused of leaving their children unsupervised on a bench while going to work in Eastview Mall.
Deputies say that 39-year-old Jean Seide and 36-year-old Bilaine Seint-Just, both of Rochester, were arrested on Saturday. They were accused of bringing their children to the mall and then leaving them on a bench unsupervised.
According to deputies, the three children were reported to EVM security, who then sent the report to the Sheriffs Office. Deputies reportedly found the children in an employee access hallway. Deputies tell us that the parents were charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
I will say - at least they are working...
How old were the kids?
Oops. Now I see it.
In my neck of the woods some parents just drop their kids off at the public library. Then the parents go to work, shopping, partying, whatever. The kids are picked up afterwards.
The librarians are not amused. But the library big shots don’t want to place any restrictions on who can use the library. So there you have it.
How do you leave a one month old?
One month!!!
How were the eight and six year old children supposed to take care of the baby?
The parents are lucky they weren’t abducted!
Good question.
> Rather than ban them, or the porn, they gave them there own area. <
The best you can say of liberals is that they are naive, and misguided. But to be more honest, you’d have to add cowardly to the description. Your story is another example of this.
I've seen a "parent" let her kids forage in a supermarket while she is shopping.
For some people, civilization is an unknown concept.
Ditto that. But they would probably get more sympathy from some if they were drug addicts.

True that. I suppose it’s something like water. If left unchecked, water will seek the lowest level. If left unchecked, some people will seek the lowest level.
In the old days those unchecked people would be condemned by society. But today anything goes.

Maybe kids grew up faster back then.
I am not excusing the parents’ behavior and your comment about taking care of a newborn is spot on. But, if these people are in fact Haitian, this kind of childcare might be common practice in their world.
>>I will say - at least they are working...<<
I think that extremely important. They may have had no choice in “child care” and figured this was similar to having them at home from a home business.
I am keeping an open mind on this one. Not condemning until there is something well beyond bad judgement. I mean they COULD have left the kids at home, which happens a LOT.
True. One of my daughters worked as a librarian at a couple libraries, in Kansas and in California. She mentioned the same, that parents would leave them there the whole day. The library offers a lot of interactive programs for kids nowadays, so they're functioning almost like day-care centers.
Hard to get worked up here ...
parents working hard
8yr old watching baby
close proximity to parents if needed (feeding etc)
in employee area not public area out of danger
how would it be reported if kids were left at home miles away from parents alone with the baby ?
It was either the mall or Chuck-E-Cheese. But I’m surprised these parents had a job to begin with.
