Back on April 26, 2016, liberal reporter Michael Isikoff reported on Trumps chief campaign aide Paul Manafort connections to a billionaire Russian oligarch.
This was a week after Donald Trump sealed the Republican nomination in the 2016 primary.
Paul Manafort was questioned by officials in the Cayman Islands about his ties to billionaire Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, a Russian aluminum magnate. Manafort was questioned by officials from the Cayman Islands in connection with a $26.2 million investment by Deripaska.
Yahoo reported:
A lawyer for Paul Manafort, Donald Trumps chief campaign aide, acknowledged Tuesday evening that the longtime GOP operative has been questioned by officials from the Cayman Islands in connection with a $26.2 million investment by a billionaire Russian oligarch who was his partner in an ill-fated telecommunications development in Ukraine. The lawyers comments came in response to an earlier story by Yahoo News about the Cayman officials efforts to track down Manafort for his testimony.
The dispute goes back years, but last summer, court-appointed liquidators from the Cayman Islands initiated legal action in federal court in Alexandria, Va., seeking to question under oath Manafort and two business partners about a business deal involving firms controlled by Oleg Deripaska, a Russian aluminum magnate who for years was barred from entering the United States over allegations of ties to organized crime.
These guys are chasing their money, said Rick Davis, one of the partners subpoenaed in the case and the manager of John McCains 2008 presidential campaign. They [Deripaskas firms] invested in something and it just went away. They are actually trying to track down where the company went and where the [money] went.

revolving fake news doors are opening. Standby, while I brush the cobwebs off this article.
They believe in recycling
They have nothing.
Forgive my ignorance and partial thread hijack, but I’m curious: is this just an old-fashioned reverse-McCarthyism going on? What’s the actual concern? So what if they did talk to the Russians?
I’ve spoken to some neighbors who immigrated here from the Ukraine, and the man of the house is a Russian by birth. He says that an American-Russian alliance is preferable to the alternatives as we’re the only superpowers actively trying to prevent the spread of radical Islam. Why is it bad? Weren’t we allies in the past?
While the MSM is rehashing old news:

Is it illegal for Americans to talk to Russians?
They think they can just pull it back out of The Memory Hole.
Let’s take a look at Democrat ties with Saudis, Chinese, and other autocrats. The rule should be, no more scrutiny of Republicans unless an equal number of Democrats are put under the microscope.
Is it illegal for Americans to talk to Russians?
******
It is clearly not, and the mere existance of such talk should not be sufficient to establish probable cause to bug.
BREAKING NEWS!!!! FDR talking to Stalin. Calls for special prosecutor heard throughout halls of congress!
Your post should be in the FR humor hall of fame.
Thet focus on Manafort in 2005,
AND AT THE VERY SAME TIME
they ignore Hillary’s ties in 2011 and Podesta as recent as 2015.

This!
Most likely it is a big hairy felony.

We shouldn’t complain. The AP is only doing it’s self-assigned REAL job - keeping the media mantras alive as assigned to the media by the Leftists/Progressives. So, they are doing as told - keeping the “Russian connections” meme going.
