I am proud of David Perdue - a huge step up from the milquetoast Saxby Chambliss. Georgia has a big agriculture economy, and Senator Perdue is still on the right side of the immigration issue. We can issue temporary work permits for seasonal workers without opening the floodgates to permanent resident aliens.
Yep, like the ‘42 Bracero program. They weren’t fighting in WWII.
Carefully supervised it could work. If they want to apply for immigration status they can do it the right way this time: by getting in line like all the other applicants who aren’t grade school dropouts with no job skills but possible criminal records causing Mexico to boot them.
This would need diligent oversight or they will again become cholo public charges and menaces to society.
The Germans imported Turk menial laborers who were supposed to go home at age 45. They’re still there.
