A spokeswoman for the House Freedom Caucus told Breitbart News the technical and Medicare-related changes to the RyanCare bill up for a House floor vote Thursday will not save the bill from defeat.
“The amendments offered by Republican leadership do little to address the serious concerns of House conservatives,” said Alyssa Farah, the caucus communications director.
“At this time, the bill does not have the votes to pass,” she said. “The Freedom Caucus will continue to work with House colleagues, the Senate, and the White House to find a path forward that works for the American people.”
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R.-WI) posted changes to his American Health Care Act bill late Monday night that were made to the RyanCare bill by the House Rules Committee, hours before President Donald Trump visits the Capitol to save the speaker’s plan to save the Obamacare program created by the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Trump’s visit is significant, because taken at face value, it demonstrates the president’s commitment to Ryan’s plan, but it could also be read as Trump’s attempt to inoculate himself from the charge that he did not do enough to help the speaker if RyanCare is defeated.
The changes are both technical and substantive amendments. The speaker said the technical amendments were necessary to ensure that the bill survives the “Byrd Bath,” the process by which senators allow parliamentarians to strip away parts of a House budget bill that violate the Byrd Rule. The Byrd Rule states that the only bills that are allowed to use the Senate’s privileged budget reconciliation track and remain exempt from filibusters are bills that deal purely with revenues and spending.

The Republicans control both houses of congress, but you would never know it. ... They have not delivered jack t, and instead been on a witch hunt to replace President Trump that brought them a huge victory 4 months ago. It's disgusting!
I know little about the bill that's currently being debated. Sounds like it's in a state of flux.
I *know* that I dislike 100% of the ObamaCare bill. Rare is a Senate Bill that affects me directly, but this has jacked up my premiums and driven a number of docs that I deal with out of the field. Just the magnitude of the reporting requirements alone would be enough to kill the bill.
I guess that the question is that how much of what's odious about ObamaCare is going away? If it's 80%, then are we letting the "perfect" be the enemy of the "good enough"?
My gut tells me, though, that they're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
So did anyone remind the “freedom caucus” that they gladly put Ryan back in that position?
By requiring replacement in the same effort as repeal you basically prevent repeal, because you make them deal with a huge tiring problem rather than a quick and concise one.

If premiums do not go down immediately the bill is a failure and this will be the first loss for Trump. His popularity will suffer. I would rather Ryancare fail than Trump suffer from this.

Trump’s on the wrong horse here if he’s backing Ryan’s bill. Having a warmed over ObummerCare renamed TrumpCare is not a “win.”
At Trump’s Louisville rally last night he said “we have to quickly pass this Ryan healthcare bill, so we can then do tax reform.”
Wait — WHY? What the heck does that mean? Tax reform does not necessitate Rynocare being done first. Do Healthcare reform properly! What’s the big “rush”?
Very disappointing to hear this non-argument “quick! quick! quick! we gotta hurry and pass Rynocare!” ‘argument’ used by President Trump. It’s also insults the intelligence of his supporters.

The ‘Freedom Caucus’ gave Ryan a super-majority. It’s their biggest accomplishment to date.

If everyone had done what we did and ditched their weasel like Eric Cantor and elected a Dave Brat things would be different.
As long as the weasels out number the good guys, nothing changes.
No gladly, there was no choice.
One does not strike at the king unless one can take him out.
GOP leadership has told Trump that tax cuts have to wait until they do Ryancare.
There was no choice, if they had tried to depose Ryan and failed there would have been reprisals.
There are still too many weasels in the House.
I’m talking about before Ryan was Speaker. All they had to do was not vote for him.
There is nothing in this bill that could cause premiums to go down.
I would rather Ryancare fail than Trump suffer from this.
Trump is out there promoting this bill and trying to round up support for it. Regardless of whether it makes it out of Congress or not, it's going to be associated with him.

“It was a great meeting, these are terrific people and they want a tremendous healthcare plan and that’s what we have but there are going to be adjustments made but I think we’ll get the votes on Thursday.”

We’ll see tomorrow night when the final bill comes out of the Rules Committee.
It’s Ryan’s bill and will remain Ryan’s bill unless it crossed Trump’s desk and gets signed into law. The House originates these things.
Ryan was Boehner’s chosen replacement.
Chosen by the establishment weasels.
Until we give the Freedom Caucus more members there will be no change.
Not voting for Ryan would have cost them committee assignments and other negative repercussions.
If they don’t set up high-risk pools and allow folks to buy the level of coverage they want, then insurance for older folks not able to get Medicare yet will get crushed. I know Trump is busy but this simple error is catastrophic.
