The FBI is investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with a covert Russian operation to interfere with the election, FBI Director James Comey told Congress Monday — and he refuted the president's baseless claim that his predecessor wiretapped his communications.
Comey's confirmation in testimony before the House Intelligence Committee that the Trump campaign was the subject of a U.S. counterintelligence investigation was a revelation that could shadow the Trump presidency.

You call that “wiretapping”.
FBI Director James Comey testified to Congress that his agency has an ongoing investigation of Russia and the Trump 2016 campaign. He said the investigation started in July 2016.
He also testified that neither he nor the Department of Justice has any information about wiretapping the Trump campaign. By such statement, Director Comey asserts that the FBI, in the entire course of their ongoing investigation since July last year, has not performed surreptitious eavesdropping on Mr. Trump, or members of the Trump campaign.
Comey’s statement is not reasonable to believe.

So the Obama admin was running an investigation. Yet no surevaillnce took place? Right! These people are muddying up the waters so bad in order to just keep the Russian narrative running .
Yeah, well, they got three YUGE problems.
1. He’s in for another 46 months.
2. The people don’t give a #### about what they’re blabbering about. At least the majority.
3. I dont care if they have a video with Trump and Putin in a hot tub discussing the election, ANY republican who votes for impeachment EVER will be DESTROYED.
There were 3,204,384,333 times when they has A LOT of reason to impeach obama. They didn’t.

Comey said that the Trump justice department gave him permission to reveal the existence of the investigation.
The investigation was likely ordered by Obama and probably involved the wiretapping of Trump tower (according to the leaks).
Comey said that Obama did not order the wiretap but did not deny that the wiretapping took place and did not reveal who ordered him to start the investigation.
Comey is clearly a liar.
Truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Comey is parsing words and not telling us what he knows. Fire him!
This is the same guy that said there was nothing improper or actionable about Hillary’s dealings.
You and I would already be serving a decade long sentence in prison if we had done any one of 2-5 things revealed in her eMails.

There is no evidence to support Trump's 'specific wording' in his wiretap tweet.
That is NOT a denial of ANY Trump wiretaps!!! If anything, it implies there was one.
Well, let’s see. There’s the NYT cover story from 1/20/2017-before the NYT hastily altered it.
There are also other intel gathering agencies that do wiretapping. How about DNI or NSA?
The only thing Comey did was say that the FBI didn’t do it.
And I’m pretty sure the big leaker is either Clueless Clapper or muslim convert John Brennan.
I think if they had any “information” they wouldn’t admit it. IMHO.

Read what he said carefully. The quote is “I have no information that supports those tweets.”.
He is talking about Obama ordering the wiretap.
But who ordered the investigation of the Trump campaign? Comey said that he would not comment on anything related to the investigation.
So if the investigation involved FISA warrants and the surveillance of Trump tower we simply do not know. But there are leaks published by the NY Times saying that the wiretapping took place.

Nope. He only said that Obama didn’t order it.
But the question is who ordered Comey to investigate the Trump campaign.
Wiretapping? It depends on the meaning Comey gives to the word wiretapping.
Also Comey did not say (from what I have read and heard just a little) that there was no “surveillance”. Just “no wiretapping”, which of course doesn’t happen any more.
Correct me if I’m wrong about Comey’s words.
It appears that tap dancing and using only certain words is what has been done, nothing whatsoever to do with truth even remotely.
Another problem they have is that this wiretapping claim hasn’t hurt Trump’s poll numbers.
