“For the first time, Comey confirmed that the FBI had opened a probe into the Trump campaign in July”

IMHO this is probably the biggest news to come out of the hearing today. If the FBI is going to do an investigation of Trump and his associates what “tools” would they use for this type of investigation? I would assume some forms of surveillance.

If that is the case then President Trump is correct when he used the term “wire tapped” in quotes. The FBI was indeed spying on him. One other question. Who asked the FBI to investigate Trump and his possible connections to Russia? Loretta Lynch is a good possibility. Who hired Loretta Lynch? Why Obama of course.

Obama hired Comey too.

“The FBI admits to surveillance of Trump.”

That’s what I got out of it. Comey seemed to deny that Obama ordered the wiretap but not that the wiretap happened.

Who ordered him to investigate Trump? Loretta Lynch? And who ordered Lynch?

Comey is just playing with words. He did nothing to disprove that the investigation of Trump was politically motivated and ordered by Obama.

When will they start investigating Obama’s payments from foreigners?

......”Comey seemed to deny that Obama ordered the wiretap but not that the wiretap happened”.....

Exactly!
I noted his ‘selective wording’ from the get go....and that’s how Comey plays it.

Not only is it significant ‘how and what questions are asked’, and wording of them, but being careful to “hear” what’s being said and not said. Vocabulary is important and can easily mis-lead and mis-direct.

“I*d like to know why he keeps deciding that he has to announce the existence of investigations...”

I believe he said that AG Sessions gave him permission to reveal the Trump/Russia investigation, which means President Trump wants it out in the open.

The Left will get all worked up about it, and when it’s announced that nothing was found they’ll have egg (among other things) on their faces.

Winning.

“I believe he said that AG Sessions gave him permission to reveal the Trump/Russia investigation”

Yes, that’s what he said.

We can assume that Trump directed Comey to reveal the existence of the Trump/Russia investigation last year.

Newt we’ll probably hear that Trump Tower was wiretapped as part of the investigation.

Then we’ll hear that Obama ordered the FBI to start the investigation.

Based on the level of hysteria the democrats have displayed over Russia. I’m sue the real collusion was occurring beyond the point of treason with the previous administration.

They want to make it so bad that Trump can’t speak with Putin as president, for fear of what he might learn transpired..

Comey’s in your face foray into the political realm today during his testimony, warrants his immediate removal from office.

Winning indeed! Funny how the Libs want the condemnation on Trump for possible Russian "interference" but completely ignore the FACTS that were revealed about Hilliary and her campaign which were the true cause of her losing the election. I'm glad everyone found out about her chicanery before the election. I have a feeling there would be a whole lot more anger had she won and the truth came out afterward.

Who knows? Maybe Trump has something on him (like a possible prison term) and will let him “investigate” for four years and then another four.

Comey was asked about that in the hearings today. Comey said that he asked the DOJ if he could reveal the investigation and the DOJ said, yes you can. As Rush said today, the Trump admin runs the DOJ and apparently the Trump admin wants everything known and in the open.

Why do you always assume that. There must not be one clean person in the entire world. This is comic book level.

“The revelation drew the ire of Clinton supporters who called out an apparent double-standard and a breach of bureau norms that caused their nominee’s surprising defeat.”

‘Caused her defeat’? I don’t think so - she was an awful candidate and according to many polls this investigation had no relevance on her losing the election. Voters had Learned just how corrupt, and unfit Hillary was over a period of many years. I don’t think there is hope for the admirers to face the truth about Hillary. It is obvious the author of this article is in denial as well.

It is pieces like this that irritate the heck out of me about journalism. Slipping in their 2 cents as some sort of authority when it is false is just wrong! I suppose that is what we call ‘fake news’.

Cause I live in the real world.

Had to having a vending machine route in NYC constantly trying to be taken by the mafia.

You grew up in a Norman Rockwell painting and are thus useless to us.

The FBI investigated Hilary because she did something ILLEGAL. Everybody concedes her home-brew server was illegal; the rationalization for why she got off was the lame-@ssed business about intent.

The FBI investigated Trump because . . . well, nobody’s really sure why the FBI investigated Trump, are they?

So comparing the two investigations doesn’t really wash.

She really hasn’t gotten off. Her reckoning has been deferred by corrupt officials in high places, but it’s not sleeping. If everyone could use intent as an excuse, nobody would ever be punished, of course.

Don’t expect the left to be even-handed at any time.
