No, the FBI Director cannot be fired. Even the President of the United States cannot fire him. Unlike all other appointed civil servants, the FBI Director is unfireable. /s

Only one director of the FBI has been fired.

Bill Clinton fired William Sessions in 1993 (six years into his term), when Sessions refused to resign over ethics allegations.
