If the Sheriff can’t prove beyond a reasonable doubt that there was no alternative to ordering a SWAT raid, he should be charged with manslaughter.

Let’s await passing judgment til we know the whole story. Like, how do we know she was being used as a shield and wasn’t shooting back at Law enforcement herself? Someone’s say-so? Check her for GSR.

Clearly bad intel. They could have easily sent someone to the door as a poll taker or a utility employee to gather intel before the raid. It seems that SWAT teams spend all their time pumping up and finally when the occasion arises they just let loose.
