Plaintiff behind Trump travel ban runs Muslim Brotherhood mosque

The main plaintiff in the Hawaii case blocking President Trump’s revised temporary travel ban is an imam with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

The irony is hard to miss: Trump has talked about declaring the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization, and now it is a Brotherhood-backed imam who is playing a key role in blocking his executive order on immigration.

Imam Ismail Elshikh, 39, leads the largest mosque in Hawaii and claims he is suffering “irreparable harm” from the president’s executive order, which places a 90-day ban on travel to the U.S. from six countries.

I'm gonna guess that's this one: The vast majority of Hawaii’s roughly 5,000 Muslims attend Elshikh’s mosque, the Muslim Association of Hawaii, which is located in a residential area of Manoa, Honolulu.

More on this mosque at: Brookings: Muslims expel reformer from Manoa mosque, claim Arabs discovered Hawaii: "Hawaii has a small Muslim community of between 3,000 and 4,000, which I was asked to address after Friday prayers at the main mosque. Hakim Ouansafi, the Arab head of the mosque committee, and the president of the Muslim Association of Hawaii, welcomed us but warned us not to be in touch with Saleem Ahmed, someone we were anxious to meet. Hakim said irately that Saleem reputedly gave interviews in the media and talked to interfaith communities claiming to represent Islam, which he did not. Indeed, according to Hakim, Saleem was not even a true Muslim."

Hakim “Islam Day” Ouansafi to Direct Hawaii Public Housing Agency

The Hawaii Public Housing Authority Board of Directors voted unanimously Thursday morning to appoint Muslim Association of Hawaii President Hakim Ouansafi as HPHA Executive Director. According to information presented to the Board, Ouansafi’s appointment has already received approval from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development which is required under conditions of a 2002 “Corrective Action Order” giving HUD oversight of the troubled agency. Ouansafi’s appointment also received the support of Gov Neil Abercrombie’s Director of Human Services Pat McManaman who told the Board that Ouansafi’s application “really stood out”.

According to the Hawaii Islamic Information Office, Ouansafi’s Manoa Mosque is backed by Prince Abdulaziz Bin Fahad Al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia. Ouansafi, who acknowledges that “foreign money ... come(s) with strings attached,” has publicly mooted plans to build a larger mosque in downtown Honolulu.

Paid $88,000 per year, the HPHA manages Hawaii’s 6,000 public housing units scattered throughout 80-plus sites statewide. HPHA is in the midst of a $135M public-private renovation of the Towers at Kuhio Park, Hawaii’s largest public housing project. As has been the case with many agency heads since Governor Neil Abercrombie took office, the previous Executive Director, Denise Wise, resigned October 12 “for personal reasons” after about one-and-one-half years at the helm.

Ouansafi is best known as the progenitor of Hawaii Islam Day. By misrepresenting the foundation date of his own religion, Ouansafi conned the 2009 Hawaii Legislature into passing a resolution designating September 24, 2009 as Islam Day in Hawaii. He did this by falsely claiming a Julian date in the year 622 was actually a Gregorian date. September 24, 2009 just happens to be September 11, 2009 in the old Julian Calendar.

Ouansafi was nailed for falsely claiming to represent the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation as part of a promotional event for the Muslim Association of Hawaii in March, 2011. The fake FLEF event came after the October 2010 arrest of “jihadi wannabe” Abdel Hameed Shehadeh who had been attending Ouansafi’s Manoa Mosque in between failed efforts to enter Pakistan and join the Taliban. After the arrest of Shehadeh, Ouansafi was quick to go to the media and trumpet his “secret” role in the investigation—effectively warning away any other violent jihadis. Akamai observers noted that Shehadeh came to Hawaii with an open and public FBI tail one source described as “big enough to make a peacock blush” thus giving Ouansafi little choice but to cooperate.

In a 2010 book published by The Brookings Institution, author Akbar S. Ahmed interviewed Ouansafi. After a visit to Ouansafi’s Mosque, Ahmed describes how Ouansafi expelled a follower of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi for “diluting our religion.” Ouansafi bizarrely claimed to Ahmed that it was Arabs, not Polynesians who first discovered Hawaii—and that the words Hawaii and Honolulu are both Arabic names, not Hawaiian. Ouansafi also told Ahmed that “Hakim” was Hawaiian for “wise leader”—an assertion quickly debunked by a search through Pukui and Elbert’s Hawaiian Dictionary. Interestingly, the Hawaiian term “haku ‘epa” does mean to lie or deceive and “haki wale” refers to a weak leader, easily broken.

Ouansafi, as President of the Muslim Association of Hawaii, has questionable adherence to the First Amendment—which should raise questions about his willingness to abide by the standards of transparency demanded of HPHA under State and Federal law. As Islamists organized rioting over cartoons of Mohammad published by a Danish newspaper, Ouansafi’s Muslim Association of Hawaii Islamic Information Office website February 20, 2006 posted a statement by "Muslim Religious Leaders." The statement didn’t denounce the deadly riots, instead it attacked free speech, vainly proclaiming "The events in Denmark concerning the Messenger of God represent an entirely unacceptable crime of aggression that has violated the highest sanctities of the Muslim people."

A 2009 Hawai`i Free Press investigation into the national and international resources working with Ouansafi’s MAH is titled: On the trail to Hawaii Islam Day: Saudi money, Libyan assassins, Palestinian Jihad, London bombers, Malaysian sodomy, and laughing Islamists.

On the trail to Hawaii Islam Day: Saudi money, Libyan assassins, Palestinian Jihad, London bombers, Malaysian sodomy, and laughing Islamists

Mohammad cartoons were not the only incidence of the "moderate" MAH attacking free speech. When Hawai`i Free Press in September, 2007 exposed allegations of "fraud" in relation to plans to build a mosque in a Kona residential subdivision, MAH-connected Muslims threatened to sue. They teamed up with the terror-connected Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) but we stood our ground, the article is still up, and no lawsuit has been filed. The lesson is clear: Not only free speech, but even Hawaii County zoning ordinances and the covenants of Big Island community associations are both infinitely superior to Islamic law.

Here, too, is a lesson for anybody who wishes to learn it. The absence of concessions shows Muslims there is no desire to submit to Islam. They go elsewhere on their life-long quest for submission.

CAIR is just the tip of the iceberg. The Hawaii MAH-IIO webmaster Abdul Rashid Abdullah is Deputy Director of American Muslims Armed Forces and Veteran Affairs Council—an organization responsible for recruitment and training of the Muslim Chaplains in the US Armed Forces. One of the tiny group’s most active members is former Muslim chaplain Army Captain James "Yousef" Yee who was charged with espionage at Guantanamo—though charges were later dropped for ‘national security reasons’. The group's co-founder, Abdurahman Alamoudi, was busted in Britain in 2003 with a suitcase full of money from Libya. Alamoudi, a former associate of Presidents Clinton and Bush is now serving a 23-year sentence for his involvement in a Libyan-backed effort to assassinate the Saudi Crown Prince, Abdullah.

To this day King Abdullah and Libyan dictator Muammar Gadaffi cannot sit in the same room without cursing each other. Hawaii is an unlikely flashpoint in THAT "debate".

Brisbane-Australia-based Dr Mohammed Abdalla, came to Hawaii to deliver numerous lectures at MAH for the just-ended month of Ramadan, 2009. He has been a favorite each Ramadan for several years at the MAH's Saudi-funded Manoa mosque. Abdalla tells the Star-Bulletin October 7, 2006 he has been on "a continuous speaking circuit in Australia since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks."

JUST ONE TIME I’d like to see The President ACTUALLY recognize that this Judge has no jurisdiction; that the plaintiff had no standing, that the resulting ruling is null and void — legal vaporware, essentially — CALL THE JUDGE OUT ON IT, RAM IT BACK UP HIS ASS, and move forward no matter what.

The Mafia loves/loved America because of its freedoms and laws. They took/take advantage of these great foundations because in too many cases protection of the wrong people has gone to the extreme.

Muzzies know this and are using it to their advantage. Laughing at the dumb white folk who love them every step of the way.

Instead of travel ban on Extreme vetting which the left says is against the Muslim religion. Just ban everyone from those 7 countries then he can’t be accused of anti Muslim..

Most Muslims are Caucasian, if not white. Islam is a religion, not a race.

I saw a video taken inside a large London mosque, where the women were being taught about how infidels must die and homosexuals must be thrown from mountainsides, bridges, and tall buildings. Their heads are filled with murderous hatred in the guise of religious education. Presumably the men are getting the same kind of indoctrination, but men and women are separated in the mosque, and the person recording the video is a woman.

I wonder if this imam runs his mosque the same way?
