Trump's budget doesn't care about propping up DC home prices
The Washington Examiner ^ | March 16, 2017 | Pete Kasperowicz

"The president of the United States, he represents the District of Columbia, northern Virginia and southern Maryland, but he also represents the rest of the country," Mulvaney said on a call to outline the budget plan.

"And I can assure you that we did not write this budget with an eye toward what it would do to the value of your condo," he said.

That was Mulvaney's response when he was asked about reports warning of the budget's possible downward effect on home prices.

I wouldn’t even care if the people who have the nice houses are liberal if they’re working in the private sector.

But the area is rich for mainly one reason.

The fed govt jobs.

Well, leaders, who encourage the scum of the earth to relocate to neighborhoods, do not care how it affects the real estate values. Oh well.

Oh no, POTUS just lost the DC electoral votes for good. He won like 3% of the vote there for obvious reasons. Pigs never vote against their trough.

sounds like Trump is just making housing affordable again in the DC area!

Now there will be no need to build government subsidized affordable housing.

I grew up in suburban MD, in an area that was still fairly rural in 1967. My parents bought a brick split level for $25K that had been built in 1955 on a third of an acre. Car port, no garage.

My Mom got $150K for it when she moved out in 1995. About 15 years later it went for half a million.

In 1946 my parents bought the house I was raised in for 18K in Falls Church Va. After they passed on, in 1988 it sold for 145K. Today it’s worth 700K. It’s just a 4 bedroom, 2 bath cracker box.

Move DC to Texas

Or to Texas County, Missouri, which was the center of population for the US in the 2010 census. It may have shifted a bit further south and west by now. Springfield would be the closest reasonably large city.

Or go by geographical center of the 48 contiguous states, which is in Smith Co., in northern Kansas. That's pretty rural so maybe a nearby metropolis like Salina, KS, or Hastings, NE, could serve as the capital. Housing would be a lot cheaper and Congress might not stay in session year-round.

MAGA! This is why we elected him. Because we’re tired of FedGov seeking / accepting / having the job of being a landlord, housing lender, and guarantor of wealth creation (to some). Back to basics!

I live in Fairfax County--which is chock full of libtards.

8 years ago, Fairfax County was the sixth richest county in America. It is now THE richest county in America.
