ORLANDO, Fla. —

Florida Gov. Rick Scott says he is reassigning the Markeith Loyd case after State Attorney Aramis Ayala said she won’t seek death penalty.

A spokeswoman for Scott said Thursday that the governor is reassigning the Markeith Loyd case to a prosecutor in a district northwest of Orlando.

Scott's action came hours after State Attorney Aramis Ayala announced her office will no longer seek the death penalty in cases.

"Earlier today, I called on State Attorney Ayala to immediately recuse herself from this case. She informed me this afternoon that she refuses to do that. She has made it clear that she will not fight for justice and that is why I am using my executive authority to immediately reassign the case to State Attorney Brad King.," Scott said.

Loyd's case is the most visible one affected by Ayala's decision. He is charged with killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend and Lt. Debra Clayton.

Ayala says there is no evidence of improved public safety for citizens or law enforcement with the death penalty, and that such cases are costly and drag on for years.

The People elected Ayala.

So now what happens every time there is a death penalty case?

Ayala’s office is a mess.

Uncontested election, funded by Soros, husband imprisoned for counterfeiting, assistant state attorneys arrested for cocaine use.

Orlando police chief ‘furious’ prosecutors won’t seek death penalty in Loyd case

Mar 16, 2017

ORLANDO, Fla. —
Orlando police chief John Mina says he is “furious” that State Attorney Aramis Ayala will not seek the death penalty for accused cop killer Markeith Loyd.

Loyd is accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Sade Dixon, and Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton.

Orlando police Chief John Mina told WESH 2 News he is extremely upset that the state attorney will not be pursuing the death penalty.

“I was furious, I’ll put it bluntly. This is a person who killed his girlfriend, killed his unborn child, executed a police officer in broad daylight, and the fact that we have video of him doing this as she lay helpless on the ground — it’s very upsetting,” Mina said.

Loyd is jailed on multiple charges, including murder.

A judge entered a “not guilty” plea on Loyd’s behalf earlier this month. Loyd has repeatedly indicated during court appearances that he plans to represent himself.

Ayala said on Thursday that she had decided to no longer seek the death penalty in first-degree murder cases after conducting a review.

She said there is no evidence of improved public safety for citizens or law enforcement with the death penalty, and that such cases are costly and drag on for years.

Incredible.

> she said there is no evidence of improved public safety for citizens or law enforcement with the death penalty

What arrogance. It is not within her purview to set public policy. She is not exercising proprietorial discretion on a case-by-case basis, but declaring a policy.

Maybe she and Baltimore ‘prosecutor’ Marilyn Mosby can start a law office together.

Suggest you review this case- short version: This has muzzie local farrakhanite’s helping the killer, not once, but twice. This man killed his pregnant girlfriend (one of) in Dec. 2016, horrifically. At 7:30 AM in Jan. at a Walmart near one of the older staid neighborhoods in Orlando, a female Orlando Police Officer, a sergeant (Af-Am) was gunned down by this utter street thug, who was wearing body armor. The officer was buying groceries for her family, and was tipped by a member of her community (while she was loading her car) to the guy being in the WalMart. Closed casket ceremony for her- she got off one shot to his shoulder, he fired back hitting her in the face and cranium. Then, his niece and criminal pals all covered for him, even delivering his pay from a restaurant owned by.... muzzies.

This governor is doing absolutely right by the community that knows what happened, and by the police of the entire state— who are under assault daily by BLM etc, and drug thugs from the prior “downline” muzzie in chief.

“”Ayala says there is no evidence of improved public safety for citizens or law enforcement with the death penalty””

Has she ever found a case where the perpetrator put to death killed again? After the Casey Anthony case and that other female state attorney messed things up, why on earth was there another one put in that position? I know - I know -good ole’ equality - nothing like it as civilization goes spinning down the drain...

She would make a great AG here in CA.

Kamala Harris, the former AG here never enforced the Death Penalty. Now she is the new and improved Babs Boxer.

She is the female version of Obama, another Marxist Mulatto.
