LOS ANGELES (AP) Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca was convicted Wednesday of obstructing
an FBI investigation into corrupt and violent guards who took bribes to smuggle contraband into the
jails he ran and savagely beat inmates.

Hell, when I lived in California I can remember the L.A. Times doing an expose about the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
It houses 22,000 male inmates and is run by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.
This was in the 1980’s, and even back then, the deputies formed their own gangs, abused inmates, forced rival gang members to fight for the amusement of the deputies, beat inmates, etc.
The corruption has been going on for many decades.

Mr. GG2’s father would turn over in his grave. He used to be a deputy sheriff in LA county. Mr. GG2 said they were great role models to grow up around.
