You said you enjoy some of PBS programming. So why would you feel ripped off?

Using our taxes to support political agendas on NPR and NEA is another matter. I wish that could be done away with while leaving the good stuff intact.

There is already a perception that Conservatives are rubes and philistines when it comes to the arts. What’s the point of validating that perception and creating yet more rancor in an already divided country? For what? Bringing the country together has a higher value in my mind than worrying about government playing a small role in arts program funding. PBS has been a cultural mainstay for a lot of people for a long time. We can leave it alone and still MAGA.

my basic premise is that shows like Sesame and Masterpiece will succeed on other channels paid for by the people who view them or advertisers.

Perhaps. But my premise is we don’t need to create more dissention in this country over this. There are so many more important goals that will need our undivided energy, focus and support. I see it as overreach, a distraction, and not a help going forward.

the best way to cut the budget is to cut the non-essential items. This is non-essential; and not authorized by the constitution.

There is more to MAGA than cutting the budget. Let’s see what happens.

The budget for next year is being built now. Let’s not wait and see what happens.

Unless you’re a voting member of Congress you’re going to have to watch how this shakes out. That’s all that I meant. Give it a rest already.

You can’t trade for votes if you hold no cards at the table. President Trump is upping the ante and countering every lib/ GOPe bet with another raise! MAGA! Don’t play poker with ‘The Donald’. Loving it!
President Trump will force them to show their cards publicly or fold, but no check bets. No free rides at America’s expense.
