A video showing the Asian owner of a beauty supply store attacking and choking a Black female customer has prompted the local black community in Charlotte, North Carolina to gather in front of the store and protest the incident.
According to Missha Beauty store owner Sung Ho Lim, he was trying to confront the customer whom he thought stole something when things got out of hand. No one has been arrested following the incident.
“The female attempted to leave the store, but [Lim] blocked the exit and asked the female to show him what was in her bag since the alarm had gone off. The female refused and a struggle ensued. The female then left the store and fled in a silver dodge sedan,” the authorities reportedly said.
Despite the alleged crime, the protesters expressed that Lim had crossed the line when he subdued the woman violently.
In the video footage taken by a customer’s mobile phone, the woman can be heard denying the owner’s allegation. As the two begin to engage in a scuffle, Lim screamed, “You hit me.” He then went on to kick the woman, pin her to the ground and place her in a choke hold.
According to WBTV, the owner has filed a police report alleging that the woman engaged in “strong armed robbery” of fake eyelashes from his store. Lim said he is willing to surrender the store’s surveillance video to the police.

If the store owner is lucky de membas of de community will boycott that store. Who wants thieves in their store?

What is a storeowner supposed to do? Get robbed blind by thieves?
And who care about the skin color of the participants of this non-story? Other than racists?
A family member of mine owned a store in a primarily white area. 90% of her shoplifting occurred from black customers.
She had to stop taking checks from ANYONE because she could not put a sign up saying “no checks from black people” because EVERY TIME she took a check, it bounced. She spent half her nights off in court trying to win judgments that never got paid anyway...
I finally convinced her to put mirrors and OBVIOUS cameras (real and fake) everywhere. Not to CATCH them, but to discourage them from trying. It finally cut down because they stopped coming into her store for the most part.
I don’t care if any black people here are offended... I am sick of political correctness. Go talk to your people. Also ask them why 50% of all murders are committed by 3% of the populations (young black males)

Maybe if she charged at them or threw a fist at him and knocked him back, but she didnt do that. IMO, the owner should be up on charges. I hear there is a boycott and there should be. And a lawsuit.

How about this: Don’t Steal. You never know what the consequences will be, and criminals are NOT protected by the law.

Here in California we had some little "brotha's" demand free pizza and when refused waited and beat the owner seriously injuring him. Better wake up people!
I don’t blame the owner. I rather like the pain compliance technique he employed at the end to subdue her.
Koreans learned from the L.A. Riots. They don’t put up with this kind of crap.

The woman - who was quite big - attacked the small store owner first. She had stolen more than eyelashes. She knows the store video will show her starting the physical assault and stealing the items.
BTW - the NAACP is demanding that the store owner apologize to the woman and apologize to the entire african American community.
It's liberal attitudes like yours - blaming the victim - that embolden people to commit crime.

Not at all. She was a fleeing criminal. Any store owner has a right to demand an inspection of packages, etc. By her refusal to do so, she created a reasonable expectation that she was stealing, and therefore had to be detained. He had no obligation to wait until she displayed a weapon.
She could have stopped the action at any time by simply giving up the merchandise. Merchant is not at fault.
