Republican senators are asking Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to investigate claims that U.S. taxpayer money is being used to back left-wing billionaire George Soros' political meddling and similar efforts overseas.
A letter sent Tuesday asked for a probe into how U.S. funds are being used by agencies such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to back left-wing political groups in other countries.
Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, one of the co-signers, even said foreign officials and political leaders have come to him with "reports of U.S. activity in their respective countries."
He said in a statement: "This includes reports of diplomats playing political favorites, USAID funds supporting extreme and sometimes violent political activists, and the US Government working

Don’t know, but my guess is that because he’s had years of business relationships with foreign governments, he’s got the connections necessary to get better cooperation when pursuing the investigation.
Keep in mind, Trump is nudging his yet-unnamed ambassadors
to urge the respective countries to look into their govt's dealings
w/ the Clintons and the nefarious Clinton Foundation:

Soros numerous n/p's should be scrutinized as to an electronic/paper trail for money-laundering, tax-evasion, govt fraud....and so on.

The activities of organizations funded by US billionaire investor George Soros in Hungary are “anti-democratic,” as they want to undermine the government in Budapest, the foreign minister of Hungary told RT.
