...shooting dead masked bank robber. That struck me as odd, too. Not sure why you would shoot him if he was already dead. Perhaps reading the whole story will enlighten me.

He's come a long way since his last job at the store George's in-laws owned.

Punks with guns don't think anybody else has one.
I'm fairly sure this young feller was just trying to deposit his church's collection plate funds and wanted to cut to the front of the line. We could ask him, I guess.

"Is it legal to shoot someone who is dead?"It depends on zoning and the distance from a dwelling or a public road.

"... the brave Security Guard puts 17 rounds into his back, just for good measure. Nice Pattern!"Glock Perfection. Being a relatively late-comer to the firearms world, one might say they "came from behind". I used to live next door to a surgeon. He would ask "Where do you want it, in the belly or the back?"

Yeah, the Melbourne, Florida video is textbook stuff. More recently, my favorite is the Dixie Gun & Pawn shooting video. In that one, the perp was dead before his knees buckled.

The local court with jurisdiction of the case, had the robber lived, should pay a bounty to the guard in the amount of, say, ten per cent of the estimated costs of trying and incarcerating the robber. This should be standard policy for bonafide security guards and police everywhere.

LOL. Sorry, I missed the sarcasm. The people who write the headlines are not the brightest bulbs in the firmament.

Yeah, I think that was the one with the owner using a 45. His partner didn't have is gun out, but used his body to obscure the older gent, who used that small advantage to help win the day.
45's save lives. Should be a t-shirt, or a bumper sticker.

Unfortunately, it can be a lot easier for me to read the FR posts than it is to go to the source. I'm on a government network and almost every news source is blocked. I'm surprised that I can see FR.

Is it legal to shoot someone who is dead? Tank gunners do it all the time, whether it's hit but not yet disabled enemy vehicles or dismounted troops who might be wounded or playing possum. You get 63 rounds of main gun ammo and 12,000 rounds for the co-axial machinegun, you might as well give the taxpayers their money's worth.
Target! Turret hit, load HEAT, hit him again, Target!
Dismounts on the ground; Gunner, coax. Hose 'em. Driver, move out, keep 'em honest.
Whenever in doubt, make the certainty shot. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting again.

Am I going to hell for imagining his last few shambling steps being accompanied by Yakety Sax?If you do, you'll likely be condemned to an eternity of my company.
However, the tune I had in mind for his last perp walk was the old Rick Dees' tune Disco Duck.
