American politics is dominated by an enduring myth, writes author Peter Collierthe myth that Democrats are the party of the common man, the voiceless, the powerless, the poor. That if you care about what happens to the least among us, you will cast your vote in the Democratic column.
But as Collier also points out, the vast majority of America's voiceless, powerless, and impoverished people are concentrated in cities that have been run exclusively by Democrats for decadeseven generationswithout interruption. These are cities where stratospheric rates of crime, poverty, unemployment, out-of-wedlock births, homes without fathers and failed school systems have become a way of lifealong with oppressive and confiscatory taxes whose only discernible achievement is to keep the leaky ship of city government afloat for as long as possible before it is inevitably capsized by economic and social calamity.

The author left out a major contributing favor to the decline of Minneapolis—the Muslim invasion.
“A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, “You are mad; you are not like us.””
It is not just democrat liberal policies. It is the demographics of the city.
Minneapolis is so thoroughly liberal that they’re demanding that everything move ever further left - and have for 30 years.
Keith Maurice Ellison has been the U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district since 2007 and Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee since 2017.

American cities today have a basic flaw foreseen by the Founding Fathers: People with no stake in them are allowed to vote. When this country was founded property owners were the only ones voting; anyone else could easily pick up & move on if things went south.
Today there is no reason why anyone who doesn’t pay any taxes (except sales tax - gibsmedats pay that with our money) should vote, unless they’re retired. When you let “takers” vote, the current state of our cities - even our country - is inevitable.
Liberal $hithole. I left there 8 years ago, and can’t believe how fast it’s gone downhill.

I lived there when I went to the U of MN from 2001-2005. I liked the place at the time, but I could tell things were changing fast. I would avoid going to the Somali part of town.
They had a downtown library. I went there once, and it was filled with bums playing checkers. They bulldozed the place; I think they rebuilt it. at night the bums rode the buses to stay warm.
I stayed in downtown Minneapolis for a few days a couple of months ago for a conference. I was struck by how dangerous the streets felt at night. I’d rate it worse than almost any other major city in the U.S. Definitely wasn’t that way when I first visited twenty or so years ago.
Next on the list - Cincinnati.
It is not just democrat liberal policies. It is the demographics of the city.
The Democrat Liberal Policies create the demographics of the city.
I personally blame our watchdogs, the media. They have the power to expose corruption, they have the power to fully explain why schools are doing so bad, they have the power to change the climate of cronyism yet they do nothing.
I live in the media coverage area for Sacramento. The only time I see a negative story on any politician is after they are arrested.
They provide positive coverage to those groups they support and negative coverage to those groups they don’t like.
In short, they are as corrupt as the politicians they protect.
Well the 20th century made sure to that voting rights were extended.
Somalis have taken over the airport in Mpls.
There are many wonderful people with great potential who are trapped in these Liberal hell-holes. I weep for them.
***and it was filled with bums playing checkers.***
Never happened before vagrancy laws were done away with. Now libraries are full of them, and once free museums require an entrance fee to keep the bums away.
