Some people can’t take no for an answer.

They want independence from the UK, but not their masters in Brussels. Snort. They don’t make Scots like they used to.

Shouldn’t there at least be a generation between such a plebiscites? Otherwise it’s a constant hammer with every new leader running on withdrawal and independence.

In general I would agree, but in this specific case, I think it is reasonable for it to be argued that the situation has changed. Scotland voted to remain in union with England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, as the United Kingdom within the context of that nation being part of the EU and at the time the vote happened, it was reasonable for Scottish voters to think that was likely to remain the status quo (at that stage, the case to stay in Europe was still significantly ahead in the UK - we now know that changed once the campaign for Brexit really got going, but it was the situation when Scotland voted).

I hope Scotland chooses to remain in union, but it would be hypocritical in my view, as somebody who supported the right of the British people as a whole to determine whether they wanted to be part of a United Europe, to object to the right of the Scots to determine whether they want to be part of a United Kingdom.

What you point out has merit, except it’s caveat emptor. Part of the Union means accepting Union decisions.

You point out Brexit as a trigger example. Sure, that’s gotta be making some people feel a bit sore, However it was a known variable and part of the referendum equation.

There will always be something debatable to bring up, and lo and behold, opponents will keep finding them.

Wasn’t Scotland polled at the same time to stay within the Union? If so (and I believe so) than I vote no new plebiscite for a generation — 20 years.
