I think the crux of the dilemna in abolishing Obamacare is that it is now widely accepted as an entitlement such as Medicare and Social Security.
Figuring out how to rescind now established government benefits, especially expanded Medicaid, is seemingly an impossible mission.
President Trump in fact commented as much in citing that he hadn’t realized how complex dealing with this problem would be.

“I think the crux of the dilemna in abolishing Obamacare is that it is now widely accepted as an entitlement such as Medicare and Social Security.”

Uh, so what? Repeal the newest freebie program. And work up the older commie “care” programs.

“Figuring out how to rescind now established government benefits, especially expanded Medicaid, is seemingly an impossible mission.”

Repealing can be with with votes that the REPUBLICANS CONTROL. Republicans now control the WH, Senate, and the House. What more do you fking need to REPEAL?

“President Trump in fact commented as much in citing that he hadn’t realized how complex dealing with this problem would be.”

So what? REPEAL.

“Figuring out how to rescind now established government benefits, especially expanded Medicaid”

Ryan caps the expansion of medicaid. He doesn’t rescind established benefits.

Opposition to the Ryan plan can be divided in two camps:

1- Pure libertarians who want to repeal Medicaid (Ryan repeals the Obamacare mandate/taxes and only caps the expansion of Medicaid)

2- People like you who receive Medicaid subsidies and don’t want to see them cut.

Ryan doesn’t cut benefits. Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Levin, Beck, etc want to slash all benefits now.

For them the choices are slash all benefits now or keep Obamacare as is until it “implodes”.

But the “implosion” that they are expecting won’t be reported on TV. It will be millions of people dying quietly and prematurely because of healthcare costs.

Repeal what’s possible now and live to fight another day.

I wish I wouldn’t need to repost this, but I think this sentence from the article is important and many seem to miss it.

“According to the CBO, the projected loss in insurance coverage is related mostly to a provision repealing penalties associated with the ACA’s requirement to buy insurance. ”

If a family runs into financial trouble, the wise choice is to cut back on a luxury (entitlement). If families do it to survive so the hell should our government. That’s the problem; if the government acted like families we would have a GREAT country.
