My neighbor was in Vietnam building Towers before there was a large amount of fighting going on.
I forget what kind of towers they were, radio or something or other.
He did not see combat. Wasn’t a soldier. Ended up working for Con Ed when he got home.
Would you hazard a guess as to what he was building? Or is the question incredibly vague? :)
Communication towers mostly. Page Electronics was one of the construction companies. Probably some radar sites too.
Public contracts were put out for bidding for many types of construction work, from building ports and infrastructure/facilities, to possibly roads and bridges.
