Shell must know something...
Shell is building a very large ethane plant north of Pittsburgh. It is an eight year project with estimates of up to eight billion dollars in costs when complete.
Shell will be using both the Marcellus and Utica Shale for their feedstock. There is a corresponding boom in pipelines and drilling in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
I think Shell is reinvesting in more profitable ventures for the debt load they are carrying. Further, the Permian developments (Shell) are incredible.
