No One Is Paying Attention To The 2nd Islamic State That's Emerging In Syria

A new Islamic State is being constituted in Syria, and no one is paying attention—yet.

“There’s a second Islamic State that has emerged,” says Theo Padnos. “…Nobody knows what is happening in the northwestern corner of Syria. I know because I’m in touch with some of these people, and they’re making videos all the time. We just haven’t connected the dots.”

Padnos is a freelance journalist who, in 2012, was kidnapped in Syria and held captive by elements of al-Qaeda and al-Nusra Front. He was released two years later, following negotiations led by the head of Qatar State Security.

In a wide-ranging interview with RiskHedge’s Jonathan Roth, Padnos explains this new entity that’s growing in Syria.

“There’s a second Islamic State; it’s right on the Turkish border,” explains Padnos. “To get to this second Islamic State from any European country, it’s a couple of days on the bus. Young kids are going every day—that’s what the guys on the ground in Syria are telling me: ‘Oh yes, we have new French people, new English people every day.’”

The former captive says the Syrian government is winning the war in Syria, but the victory is coming with a cost. “[The Syrian Army] is dispersing the rebels,” reports Padnos. “The rebels have been concentrating in certain urban neighborhoods, and now they’re going off into the countryside. They’re occupying villages. And when the US Army or the Kurds or some combination finally arrives in Raqqa [the capital of the Islamic State], all those ISIS fighters—they will have been gone for weeks. They’re out of town now.”

“Let’s quit kidding ourselves, the problem is islam.”

The problem is Wahabbi muslims (the State religion of Saudi Arabia). All of the Sunni terrorist organizations are variants of that extremist sect - ISIS, al Queda/al Nusra, Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood, Al Shabaab, Boko Haram.

It is not Sufis, or Ahmadiyya, or Shii’tes not under the control of the Iranian regime. It is not the followers of the (formerly) mainstream schools of Sunni jurisprudence (fiqh) - Maliki, Shafi or Hanafi - it is all the Wahabbi-style followers of the Hanbali fiqh. That doctrine should be controlled like Nazism or Communism (used to be).

You nailed it.

Islam has been at war with the rest of humanity since 622 A.D.
Jihad must continue until everyone on earth submits or dies.
Mad Mo made it so.

If Israel unleashes it’s nuclear arsenal that would solve the problem forever. A thousand years would not be enough. What would China and Russia do? They have their own issues within their own borders. The U.S? Small potatoes. We should pressure them to deal with THEIR problem.

Unfortunately there’s the fouling your own next aspect of using nukes nearby your own territory. They should be, for that reason, the last resort. For when there is either a fouled nest or no nest at all.

That said, I’ve occasionally agitated that we need to use our larger conventional weapons, the heirs of daisy cutter munitions, should be used in coordinated fashion with overlapping areas of effect. This is essentially the same approach that has been developed for MIRV nukes where a larger number of smaller warheads scatter is similar fashion and do more damage as a consequence.

Yes. Islam .. plain and simple

no need to qualify with adjectives like radical, terrorist, fundamentalist, islamofacist etc.

But no mouse (politicians and dhimmi intelligentsia) wants to bell that cat.

.
No, it wouldn’t — there are other muslim states that are not located in the Middle East such as Indonesia, Azerbajan and others.

In a discussion with Saudis a few years back I was asked, “Why do you think Saudi Arabia is so tepid in the war with Israel?” The answer was: Israel’s warning of ‘never again’, which was taken seriously, as was its neutron bomb arsenal which if deployed would make Mekka and Medina uninhabitable for decades.

Nah.

A neutron bomb is a type of nuclear weapon specifically designed not to produce a massive explosion and significant infrastructure damage, but rather to completely irradiate an area with neutron radiation, killing all living things while leaving the infrastructure relatively intact. Though a neutron bomb does cause infrastructure damage and some long term radiation (it is still a nuclear weapon after all), they are specifically designed so that ~48 hours after the device is detonated, friendly troops can move into an area and utilize the infrastructure without fear of radiation. Thus, neutron bombs are generally seen more as a tactical nuclear weapon than a strategic one.

Are they off looking for all those jobs Marie Harf-Wit says are necessary to rehabilitation and integration into civilized society?
