One can have plastic surgery and pretend they are Klingon or Chewbacca...but it’s all an illusion in the end. There was a major US hospital in the Maryland area which did the trans surgery for a couple of years, and then the mental health guys attached to the hospital noted that suicide was becoming prevalent thing after the third year because you had to keep suggesting they were different....when they weren’t, and the folks eventually figured this out. At that point, the hospital said ‘enough’ and quit accepting patients.

Yes, they also said that the vast majority of young people who are confused about their sexuality will simply outgrow their confusion naturally as they get older. As a result, they greatly discouraged using hormonal therapy or surgical procedures which would continue their confusion.
