You've identified the problem, Comey. The question is whether you are part of the problem or the solution.

Put out an APB for hotels since you have to check in with a driver’s license.

It’s more secure than voting in America.

Also bus stations and airports.

“Even our communications with our spouses, with our clergy members, with our attorneys are not absolutely private in America,” Comey added. “In appropriate circumstances, a judge can compel any one of us to testify in court about those very private communications.”

That's funny, because we have other laws that protect attorney/client and priest/parishioner privilege and a spouse can't be forced to testify against their spouse. Judge or no.

"Streamline the internal and international intelligence gathering and crime solving by placing it under one roof. That way the existing empires will be one and will be talking to one another."

Horrible idea, and a guarantee of eventual tyranny. IIRC, this whole mess started with the "cross-sharing" of data between groups. WAY too much potential power under one roof.

There is also a reasonable expectation of privacy.

You really can't even go into a silenced pod anymore without this thing reading your lips!

He’s swung the door WIDE open for Trump to begin winning Millenials to his side.

Online privacy is the A#1111111 issue to them (just below ditching their student loans).

I read Director Comey's remarks more as a warning. The words, "There is no such thing as absolute privacy in America," - should send chills through freedom lovers worldwide.

Once America caves - Liberty is doomed. Everywhere.

He’s right. No such thing as an absolute right to privacy. Never has been—never should be.

There’s a benefit to keeping one in place who you already know much about, rather than a relative unknown.

You can “drop off the grid” given time for preparation and discipline afterwards. Undoubtedly, a state level system would eventually be able to find you (Osama Bin Laden). For myself, that would be entirely too much effort.

I am not amused that Comey would phrase it this way.

Article the fourth ... The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

There is no requirement for "absolute privacy", but there is both a God-given right and a legal requirement for absolute privacy except when a warrant is issued based on probable cause. I'd rather take the risk of terrorists getting around holes in government surveillance than take the risk of a thug (like Obama, Hillary, and many others on both sides of the political aisle) abusing government power.

Some privacy is more equal than others in Bolshevia.

This guy has what could be termed “catholic” tastes in the genericizing of a fascist concept of Constitutional freedom. The Founders were not fascists— only the later people who brought their failed dreams of monarchy from Europe (a second chance in a more open state of pioneer US). In the same sense it was a vanity of the Washingtons and other minor landed gentry— that they wanted to be seen as something different than colonial servants to the real— that is, as real Lords of their new country, and not treated as bumpkins at Court. The whole reason for the encroaching trappings of even a whiff of monarchy (though Washington studiously berated anyone, Adams for example who tried to make him a monarch, even as he rode around NY and Philly in a coach and 4 ornate carriage)being shouted down by Ant-Federalists.
So here we are— 150 plus years later having to succumb to yet again another machination of prying police to make us “feel” safe as others in the machine weave spider webs just for their benefit. How European, and dare say how ‘papist’, a term from our past.

So Comey is signing on to the Nancy Pelosi concept that—”if you breathe air, drink water... or otherwise interact with.... THE COURTS” that AG Sessions is no good. She said this— with her usual cracked pancake makeup falling— in support of the STATE... the all seeing the all knowing the all socialist and now all surveilled STATE.

Wasn’t it better when J.Edgar Hoover had the dossiers, while he pranced around... in private in a tutu? Who watches the watchers? This is some kind of rationalization for this dude. I mean... hitlery did no wrong, and huma is a hummer, but no matter about the law applying to them. He’s burnt toast.

I watched the show. Most revealing to me is ALL vehicles made after 2010 have GPS location/tracking capability. If they have your vin #, they can track your vehicle. It would be VERY difficult for the ordinary person to elude LEOs. Illegals can do it through their network of friends/family, unregistered uninsured vehicles and false multi-identities.
