Why is the internet celebrating a Soviet holiday?
Today marks the one hundredth anniversary of the Russian Revolution.
Which is the basis for "International Women's Day."
From Wikipedia:
On March 8, 1917, in the capital of the Russian Empire, Petrograd, a demonstration of women textile workers began, covering the whole city. This was the beginning of the Russian Revolution. Seven days later, the Emperor of Russia Nicholas II abdicated and the provisional Government granted women the right to vote. March 8 was declared a national holiday in Soviet Russia in 1917. The day was predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations.

Today over there in Russia, it’s not a political day and hasn’t been in a long time. Its basically a fun lighthearted valentines day for all women with relationship status not figuring in the deal. Flowers, office parties, man doing the dishes (Once that year) etc.
If you wanna find revolutionary socialists, get your head out of 1917, and look at the women’s day morons here today, having a day without a woman, spewing vile poetry, trying to overthrow the government.
Here's an antidote--a real celebration of women, plus an amusing take-down of the p***y-hat people.
As someone said on Twitter, it wasn’t a “day without Women” protest in the US. It was a day without leftwing screeching Harpies.
If they could extend the one day to a decade or two, we’d all be much better off.
Since some people think it is perfectly all right for all Women or Hispanics or Gays or whatever they decide to come up with to show how ‘important’ someone is (or isn’t), it is time for a

Exactly, I am taking a Russian class and this is what the (female) teacher said. Sounds very fun and casual, regardless of its origins.
It’s been hijacked by the progs and femmies who want a day off and Hillary as Queen.
In Russia, Feb 23, Defenders Of The Fatherland Day, has ceased to have military connotations.
Now its a light-hearted non-political holiday for women to appreciate the men in their lives. The Russian male counterpart to International Women’s Day. Sort of a Valentine’s Day for men.
I’d love to see an International Men’s Day but I’m not holding my breath waiting for it.
In the old days we called them “Commie Mommies”.
Of course these days many leftist women want nothing to do with children unless they are the result of an immaculate conception and raised with a lesbian partner. :-)
Women’s Day in Russia is also Mother’s Day. They don’t have a separate Mother’s Day holiday.
Ah, another Soviet holiday. The Democrapt party is now the “lite” version of the Communist Party, USA. They endorsed bh0 in both elections and gave their full support to Hildabeast.
like a psychotic relative at a Christmas party who whispers to one child that he got the lousy gifthis sister got the really cool gift. Then he goes to the sister and tells her that she got the rotten gift and her brother got the good one. Both kids ends up hating what they got and feel cheated by their parents. Neither one has much use for the others gift, they just wind up hating their own.Ingratitude is unhappiness. And happiness is an obligation.
A duty.
