Credit Suisse: Starbucks Stock Rating Drops 80% After Announcing Opposition to President Trump
Conservative Treehouse ^ | March 8, 2017 | Sundance

Posted on 03/08/2017 8:53:14 PM PST by detective

Credit Suisse is a stock rating entity which generates a sliding scale for future stock valuations based on evaluations of brand sentiment.  The scale runs from -100 to +100 with zero as a “hold” or “take no position” recommendation.

Back in January Starbucks announced they were going to stand in opposition to President Trump; and to display their virtuous immigration bona fides they announced their intention to hire 10,000 refugees as employees in lieu of current American applicants for employment.

I switched from Starbucks to Panera for my coffee when this whole 10,000 refugees announcement was made. I talked to a woman at Starbucks and she volunteered she had done the same and for the same reason.

I did the same. Boycott.

Too many options out there to vote with my wallet for a company that is out to destroy our country.

Same in France, Italy, and the U.K., in my admittedly limited experience. Europe has an expectation that you can make a nice basic espresso drink. It isn’t that hard. I bought an entry level quality machine and real grinders some years ago, even I can do it. When that’s your baseline, and not ability to make run of the mill drip coffee as here in the USA pre-Starbucks, the market is much tougher nut to crack. I really don’t see Starbucks doing well in Europe at all.

To many good options to run through my Keurig at 1/8th the cost to ever consider Starsux. If I’m on the road there are Ronald McDonald’s everywhere which serves pretty damn good Joe for dirt cheap. And Donut shops ........ Don’t need no stinking wifi.

Black Rifle Coffee, good cause horrible prices, at least the K-cups. In the long run they will have to get that price down.

Caribou was owned by Muslims and a Sharia bank until a few years ago. Now it’s owned by a German firm. I know folks were boycotting them not too long ago, maybe 5 years ago because they had a Sharia company policy.

not really a fan of McD’s, I always regret getting a sandwich there, but I really do like their coffee. I get at least one a day while driving about.

Their coffee is crap. And I worked at a ‘gourmet ‘ coffee house years ago. I was known as a ‘server’. Not a pretentious ‘barista’.

I use a family owned coffee shop in Ocean Springs, MS. Good Christian family, proud Trump supporters and no problem with concealed/open carry in the shop.

It’s not garbage. We can disagree with their politics and certainly I will choose a Dunkin’ Donuts over them when they are both in the same area precisely because of their leftist preaching, which is very inappropriate for a commercial business. We don’t have to gratuitously attack the product as well.

You should try Peet’s coffee instead. Better flavor.

I like my Jet Fuel in K-Cups...and café du monde coffee with chicory. Those are my two. Haven’t had Starbucks since they told me they didn’t want my business if I supported traditional marriage.

Is Starbucks a publicly traded company? I would crack UP if it faltered. Liberal overpriced greed mongers.

Locally, the SB-outfit came along and offered the landlord double the rent being paid by Dominoes.

Poof... the building was demolished and the long-time tenant gone.

Doubling the rent may not work as an expansion plan.

Mmmm, good, and they hire Veterans.”
*************************************************

Their coffee names are funny, and I like that they hire veterans. I want an alternative to Starbucks. I wanted SO VERY MUCH to let these guys be my new supplier, and be successful.

I ordered 3 weeks ago. Nuthin. Called last week and was promised this week. Nuthin.

So, I guess I won’t be able to tell you if their coffee is any good.
