Don’t you want to see his budget first?
Not attacking, just asking. :)
The thing is, if one looks at last year’s 4 trillion dollar budget, if the military and SS and Medicare don’t get touched, there ain’t a whole lot to touch.
Unless there a 100s of billions to save in Medicare, which is VERY possible.
I personally think 600 BILLION dollars should be plenty enough if used right to build a fantastic military.
But what do I know :)
I am very happy with the job Trump is doing but I am wondering about where the funds will come for a trillion dollar infrastructure project. Likely tolls.
“Dont you want to see his budget first?”
Well, I will be very pleasantly surprised if Trump proposes budgets geared toward ending any/all federal entitlements.
But if he does, it will be a complete reversal of his campaign promises.
Don’t get me wrong, I voted for him. He is worlds better than Hillary. He’s great on immigration, nationalism, etc.
But this issue has the potential to bring him from God-like status to good-on-some-stuff politician among some of his supporters.
Trump is expecting growth to solve our money problems. I’m not opposed to growth strategies: lower taxes + wider base, lower regulatory burden, etc.
But the stars are aligned like never before in the sense that we have stormed and conquered the House, Senate, WH, soon the SC - PLUS massive majorities of state govs and state houses.
This will go down in history as the biggest waste of such potential if we don’t manage to get some power devolved to the states.
Trump has nearly unprecedented potential to be a force for good in this regard - ‘good’ here meaning the uniquely American definition: Freedom!
But to do so, he’d have to break campaign promises to the contrary.
