They're not going to do that unless they know they will make money. If all they're going to get are sick and elderly, as they did under Obamacare, they they won't be interested in Ryancare.
Then pass a bill which allows them to sell across state lines.
Tenth Amendment concerns aside, any insurance company can sell in any state they want so long as they register with the state insurance people and meet their requirements.
What's wrong with the bill they passed and sent to Obama last year?
For heaven’s sake, is it really so hard to figure out a way to kill ZeroCare?
I’ve been hearing for years that ZeroCare is imploding, it’s too expensive, providers are pulling out of the exchanges, blah blah blah So, let it stand! If it’s left to stand on its own, it will die.
But we must also allow insurance companies to offer non ZeroCare plans. They will compete for business on a nationwide basis, cover preexisting conditions, etc. etc.
Let the market have free market and government solutions competing side by side.
Let’s see who wins.
“Just repealing it and leaving those people in the lurch would also be a political disaster, and a violation of Trumps campaign promise.”
These people would do the same thing as before there was Obamacare, they’d get on Medicare or Medicaid, neither of which is going away.
Rand Paul was on Fox today mentioning that he thought repeal of Obamacare might pass the Senate. Do this and figure out a new plan later. I don’t hold out much hope.
Medicaid didn’t cover working poor without kids, let alone middle class who can’t afford a thousand a month for insurance. Medicare only covers people over 65 and the disabled.
“cover preexisting conditions, “
Covering preexisting conditions is a killer for insurance.
Nobody would buy auto insurance until they had an accident if the auto companies had to cover preexisting conditions.
Nobody would buy life insurance until they died if the life insurers had to cover preexisting conditions.
They need some type of mechanism, like workers compensation second injury funds, to cover preexisting conditions.
What's wrong with the bill they passed and sent to Obama last year?
Don’t think the Dems bothered with filibuster on those bills because they knew it would not be signed.
They would bother now.
You have no leg to stand on. Offer up Reconciliation language superior to Ryan’s or hush.

Not a thing, except the Dems didn’t bother to filibuster it because it would be a waste of their time when they knew it would not be signed.
They would filibuster it now.
So you’re shot down, too.

That’s 60 votes. He’s being silly. Eight Dems won’t vote for that. Eight Dems won’t vote for ANYTHING at all from the GOP, nor should they, unless they are up in 2018 and from a red state. There aren’t 8 of those, and not all running in a newly red state will be too worried.
This is just silly.
Didn’t anyone see the press conference yesterday? Ryan explained the three phases of the replacement. Phase one (this phase)is going to be done under reconciliation and will only require 50 votes.
You messages would be much easier to read if you’d quit screaming.
Take care
The bill last year did away with the mandate penalties, removed all funding for Obamacare subsidies and the Medicaid expansion. Since it dealt with spending the Democrats couldn't filibuster it. And they can't now. Pass it again and Obamacare is as good as dead within a month or two.
Cruz isnt the only one saying this. Itll take 60 Senate votes. And that aint happening.>>> the theory was this was a recon type bill that would only need 51.
I hope he’s right.
Good luck with that.
Obamacare passed in the Senate.
Where were you told that spending bills can’t be filibustered?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filibuster_in_the_United_States_Senate
No mention of spending bills. You are misinformed.
And I might add, remove any and all enforcement provisions and youll have 20,000 plus pages of the Affordable Healthcare Act that are as worthless as used toilet paper.
Problem solved.>>> i’m not so sure. without direction to change the policies inscos now have gold, copper, crap, they will need direction from someone in government. like your on your own back to the state regs. That would be my choice and simple repeal will do that. i think it is a tax bill and could be repealed the same way it passed in recon. mho
Good question. Where is that bill?
