“You cannot be “entitled” to something the Constitution doesn’t permit the government to provide for you.”

Yeah, well thanks to Chief Justice Roberts - ObamaCare IS constitutional.

Hell, as I think about it - I would NOT be surprised if some black robed thug wouldn’t up and rule a repeal of FUBOCare is unconstitutional.

Obama was a brown stain. And getting rid of the brown stain known as ObamaCare will not be easy.

So it all hinges on appropriation - or the lack thereof?

That sounds good to me.

Personally I’m AGAINST any replacement plan for ObamaCare. If it has to be repealed AND replaced then forget it.

I like your ideas about starving the beast by denying funding.

Offer up any conservative verbage you want, provided you’re confident it will pass the Senate Parliamentarian’s judgment of what qualifies as a Reconciliation Bill.

And if you want to say change the 60 —> 50 rules, be sure you remember that if the Dems had done that in 2010, we’d have Canadian National Health Service type healthcare rather than Obamacare. There would be strictly single payer.

It was that 50—>60 inhibition that saved us from that. Take it away and . . . I’ll word this carefully. Not “A day may come when you regret it” . . . rather, “A day WILL come when you regret it”.

If you don’t like Ryan’s reconciliation bill, produce your own. Get it past the Parliamentarian, just like he had to.

The stupid bill doesn’t even ban illegal aliens from using Medicaid! That is TENS OF BILLIONS per year! They just let it go on and on.

Just a new chapter in the same old game. The GOPe simply wants to bring forth a bill that they know won’t get 60 votes in the senate. The conservatives think they are going to get a bill that actually fixes something. All the Democrats want is to play for time. Obamacare will fail and the entitlements will be entrenched leaving America with a bill too large to pay and a socialist, single payer solution already written in the media. Stupid is as Stupid does. Trump is willing to chance a poor bill with the potential of repair. I don’t think it will work without a serious swamp draining.

A bit more reminder. The rage at the Senate was quite extreme in 2010. The House Dems were screaming in anger at the worthlessness of the Senate Dems, who would not support a single payer plan at 60 votes.

You sound just like them . . . . . AND WE HAVE A SMALLER MAJORITY THAN THEY HAD. They couldn’t get what they wanted even with a larger majority. Why would you think you can get what you want with only 52 votes?

Anything making you angry, go ahead and produce your own text, and test it against the Senate Parliamentarian.

The failure to appropriate the enforcement of an Act in effect nullifies the Act until said time that the Act’s enforcement is appropriated. This does not apply to criminal statutes (for instance, you can’t murder someone because Congress failed to appropriate funding to prohibit murder, even if, for some reason, that became a federal purview), but the Supreme Court HAS said in essence that Congress practices its power to accept or reject the execution of laws by exercising its “power of the purse strings.”

Yep. How many repeal bills did the Repugs send to Bammie? Knowing he would NOT sign them.

Same thing here. They are drafting garbage knowing it’s garbage. And here we conservatives sit hoping Ryan and Rand Paul will come up with something good?

Like Lazamataz always says - “We are so screwed.”

Amazing, isn’t it?

Why? To put them on record. No more hiding behind we-can’t-do-it excuses. Stand and be counted.
