A wall on the side of a Pitzer College dormitory devoted to unmoderated free speech through art (colloquially named “the free wall”), was recently painted by a group of Latino students with the message, “White Girl, take off your [hoop earrings]!!!”
When one white student expressed confusion about the message, Alegria Martinez, a Pitzer College Resident Assistant (RA) and active member of the “Latinx Student Union,” responded in an email thread sent to the entire student body:
“The black and brown bodies who typically wear hooped earrings...are not taken seriously by others.” Tweet This
“The art was created by myself and a few other WOC [women of color] after being tired and annoyed with the reoccuring [sic] theme of white women appropriating styles … that belong to the black and brown folks who created the culture,” she wrote. “The culture actually comes from a historical background of oppression and exclusion.”

I would not wear them since some “teen” or gutter filth may rip them out by force. Of course, it would require force to put holes in my ears to start with.
They must stay up all night trying to think of something new to bitch about.

There’s that word “appropriated” again...me thinks the complainers should be charged with “cultural appropriation “ and get the he** off that college campus.

The thing that bothers me most is that they are likely already well-off and will find cushy jobs somewhere after college while people with actual common sense but not as many social connections with other well-off nitwits will not.
Even more mystifying, what is wrong with the college administrators who keep bowing down in front of these idiots?
The groups probably brainstorm about ‘What is the craziest, most unfair, most self-serving condition that I as a student could demand on this campus? Now multiply that request by a factor of 5. The result is what you demand. Don’t ask, demand! The weak and spineless professors fall for it everytime. The professors are reliving their glory years as disrupters.
It’s cultural appropriation when some of these idiots wear clothes.
Its cultural appropriation if they are speaking English.
In fact, if they aren’t speaking Hausa, Nahuatl, Latin, or Saxon, its cultural appropriation from someone.

I have to dispute Charles Murray on this. There appear to be an unlimited supply of white college educated nitwits who propagate this stuff.
They are demanding that people live out the stereotypes liberals have for each group, down to talking, dressing and acting the way liberals expect them to.
If someone said something like that last quote in the excerpt to me, I’d laugh in their face.
But there are plenty of whites who encourage this stuff.
So I wouldn’t get all prideful about whites. There are just as many, if not more, white nitwits than POC nitwits.
White women were wearing hoop earrings, when blacks and mestizos were wearing a wood sliver, or something like that, in their ears. Talk about "culture appropriation"!!!
