Bill would add new requirements to prove voter eligibility

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A Republican-backed election law bill is drawing criticism for a provision that says local police might visit people’s homes to verify they are legally eligible to vote. “This is a very hard thing for the League of Women Voters to watch, an attempt to change voting laws based on unsubstantiated claims and fears of widespread voter fraud,” Liz Tentarelli, president of the league’s New Hampshire chapter, testified Tuesday during a public hearing on the Senate bill. The bill aims to put stricter scrutiny on people who register to vote on Election Day or within 30 days of its arrival by requiring them to show verifiable proof that they intend to live in the state. Proof would include a driver’s license, evidence of residence at a university, a lease or deed, or a handful of other items. One provision in the bill says volunteering on a political campaign counts as a “temporary purpose” and, on its own, doesn’t qualify someone to vote in New Hampshire.

Funny, I bet these people weren't screaming when Obung-hole was re-writing the Civil Rights laws to include people who claim to be gay or transsexual...even though these changes were based on unsubstantiated claims and fears of widespread hatred, refusal of services, etc...

The Democrats and Liberals have been stuffing their agenda crap down our throats because they thought they were great ideas (no other rhyme or reason, they just did it), and their lemmings LOVED it! But now that the Republicans want to actually solve, or at least close, loopholes that currently would allow wholesale voter fraud, they act like someone is killing them and forcibly removing their fingernails with pliers! IDIOTS!!

NH might do well to check their rolls and cross check with Massachusetts. I have heard off and on all my life that many in Mass. vote in both states.

Well, someone should look into it if 27 people all list the same address as their place of residence.

...an attempt to change voting laws based on unsubstantiated claims and fears of widespread voter fraud...

Funny thing, that.

The current, lax voting laws are the reason why it's impossible to substantiate the claims of widespread voter fraud.

The left loves that vote fraud is difficult to prove...it helps them cheat their way to election wins and it gives them an argument to make sure it remains difficult to prove.

The vote is perhaps the most valuable right we have.

Every illegal vote steals something precious from the citizens.

Providing proof of citizenship is not a hardship. There are many things we do today that require valid identification.

Why shouldn’t registering to vote require the same identification as getting on an airplane or buying cold medicine?

They pretend we do not know what the real reason they are fighting voter id, it is so illegals can vote.

I understand, Liz Tentarelli.

You and the League of Women Voters' New Hampshire chapter are in favor of fraudulent voting.

So, what exactly is wrong with you, Liz Tentarelli? You are setting a terrible example. In fact, on its face, it looks like you are not qualified to hold your position as president of that chapter. But just because you've been placed in a position for which you are not suited, at least explain yourself. How can you possibly be in favor of encouraging voter fraud and continue to hold that position? Doesn't the sanctity and trustworthiness of the vote mean anything at all to you, Liz Tentarelli? Do you have no decency, Liz Tentarelli?

Can't the folks in New Hampshire find a decent person to take over the reins of that organization from the foolish and manifestly unqualified Liz Tentarelli? Did she infiltrate that chapter with the intent of undermining the legitimacy of the vote in New Hampshire? Was she paid to do that, or was it done simply as an act of political subversion, to satisfy her inner urge to destroy the system?

No voter regulation will be implemented until the judiciary is cleaned out.

Every reasonable law, some basic like showing an ID when voting, has been challenged and rejected by some federal judge. Presumable these judges are found by judge "shopping" socialistas.

League of women voters, the NAACP, La Raza, almost every “star” in Hollywood, the governors’ offices is California, Oregon, and Washington State, the AFL/CIO, and the ACLU would be standing in front of the 9th circuit court of appeals in California not more than 5 minutes after it was signed. It will not make it through the court system for years.

The only reason to oppose ID for voting is to facilitate voter fraud.
