I think it may have been the other way around. Someone presented a very plausible scenario over the weekend where the Obama administration conducted the surveillance without any legitimate reason at all -- and never thought it would come to light because they assumed Clinton would win the election and bury any evidence of it.
Then, Trump went out and won the election ... at which point everyone in the Obama administration and Clinton campaign team who knew about the surveillance realized that the incoming president would find out all about it. They looked at each other and said to themselves: "Oh, sh!t -- NOW what do we do?!"
At this point (November/December 2016) the Democrats and their media lackeys began running stories about "Russians hacking the election." Everyone assumed that this was being done in a desperate attempt to overturn the election, but in reality it was part of a strategy to retroactively justify the surveillance of Trump's campaign that was surely going to come to light.
This would explain why the Russians took all of those stupid sanctions imposed the Obama administration so lightly. They saw this thing for exactly what it was.

Did Valerie Jarrett even obtain a formal security clearance? Go through the process? Same for Huma. Did Hillary ever go through the security clearance process? That plus the whole email server issue. . Inquiring minds want to know. Go for it Sessions!
Seems like these people would finally get tired of doing evil and want to just live a regular life. They all have plenty of money. Why don’t they just vacation, hang with their families and leave all this evil crap alone. They must be miserable people.
Great point. Roberts acted like a brain dead robot during the Obamacare business. Heard it was about his adopted kids but makes you wonder what other weaponized intelligence Obama used on him.

Yea, that’s the ticket. Sure Obama spied on Trump and disseminated the information, but it was just accidental. Yea, let’s run with that for a while and see if the public buys this story.

I bet he does that. But in D.C. they can even pick that up. At some point, he probably just carefully watches what he says and saves conversations for Mar-a-Lago - assuming that's safe.
