Yes it sucks. But as I said in another post I am convinced Trump thinks he needs a win fast. He is down to 51% in Rassmusen. He will give the rinos this one and call it a win. As it is you have some GOP’s saying it’s not generous enough and leaves some without insurance. By the time they get through and the rats stuff more crap into it 80% of Obamacare will still be there.

This was one of my worries with Trump. I hope he’s going to start here and then continue peeling lawyers off of Obamacare, but I think it’s more than likely we’ll be stuck with something less terrible than Obama’s legacy but still harmful to America. Oh well, it’s still better than having Hillary in power. Far better!

I’m also worried about illegals. I want them all deported. 12-plus million illegals gone. President Trump is talking about deporting 2-3 million “criminal illegals”, which is not enough. If he deports those and then rounds up another 2-3 million criminal illegals (identity theft, for example), and then another . . . I’m okay with that. If he grants any form of Amnesty, I will be VERY displeased.

We may not get what we wanted, although how hard we push is likely to affect how close we come. To me, the big issues are:

- No new illegals: all illegals who arrived after January 1, 2015, should be deported without a hearing whenever they are found, even if it’s 20 years from now. They should all be deported, but we should write the laws and procedures so there is no room for compromise on this issue - new illegals (after the start of 2015) should have no chance of staying, zero, so they will give up and go home before they develop ties with this country that make those criminals seem more sympathetic.

- Starting ASAP, anchor babies should not have birthright citizenship if their parents were not here legally as permanent residents.

- Repeal Obamacare. If there is a replacement, it should be small, targeted, and free-market.

- Build the wall. Make sure there are fewer new illegals to deport to keep the job of protecting our borders manageable.

- Restore gun rights. Do the big things, including repealing the National Firearms Acts. Make silencers as legal and accessible as car mufflers, with no restrictions or licensing at all nationwide or in any locality.

- Shrink the absolute size of government. Get rid of 15% to 20% of FedGov employees and their corresponding roles in our lives. Cut spending and increase freedom at the same time!

I don’t think there will be a pretty end to this; ugly is coming. I pray for President Trump to do as much as is possible, and I pray that it will be enough. I am just VERY skeptical.

Congress was never going to repeal ObamaCare. As another Freeper astutely pointed out a few weeks ago, most Americans -- including Republican voters -- absolutely love ObamaCare. They just don't like two things about it:

1. The name.

2. Paying for it.

A complete repeal of ObamaCare would have gotten a lot of support here on FreeRepublic ... and would have cost the Republican Party control of Congress in 2018.

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing “Trumpcare”. They had better hope that it will be better, cheaper, and cover more people than what it’s replacing because the GOP now owns healthcare coverage.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

This is the Ryan Obamacare killer - not the final bill. Perhaps it may take two or three different bills to kill 0bozo’s crap signature achievement off. Remember - to get this thing through Reconciliation (51 votes) it can only deal with budget issues.

Once this is in the Dims have no choice but to go along with the final chop.

Gut the portion of the government pay out subsidies. This is not a winner for Trump, he will become the pariah that the obozo was if he signs another government entitlement into law. The dems and the MSM will do a beat down on him even though they did far worse with the obozo care act.

It sucks? For 8 years all we heard is “End the individual mandate and Obamacare is gone.” Well, this ends the individual mandate.

Replacing it with a 30% penalty for not buying insurance.
Not the repeal we were looking for or were promised.

This is no different than Obama care....plus the mandate the we’re going to eliminate...pure BS...instead of the IRS collecting. It’s back to the insurance company to collect. This p.o.s. Is dead on arrival

You are totally wrong.

Screwing Trumps base by not repealing Obamacare outright, will cause the base to stay home in the mid-terms, while the Trump haters turn out in record numbers. All those people in Pennsylvania and Michigan and North Carolina and Ohio who voted for the first time in decades due to Trump, will just stay home due to the treachery and backstabbing of the GOP-e.

The ONLY chance we have to keep both houses of Congress is to keep ALL of Ztrumps promises. It has only been days since Trump called on Congress to REPEAL OBAMACARE. They did not. The base will reject them for doing that and we will lose the Senate. Afterwhich any changes to Ryancare will be impossible because the Democrat Senate wont allow any.

The commie Dems passed Obamacare entire with reconciliation. Therefore the spineless GOP COULD pass a full out replacement as well.

I don't know why you would assume what "Trump's base" really wants.

The most current information (2015) I could find indicates that 7% of Americans buy individual health insurance coverage, and 9% have no insurance at all. This adds up to 16% of the population.

These people are the ones who are most badly screwed by ObamaCare, even if we assume that every one of the 9% with no coverage simply cannot afford an individual plan. That's only 16% of the population.

There are more people on Medicaid in this country than there are uninsured and on individual plans combined.

These Republicans in Congress are no fools. That's why they delayed the "Cadillac tax" on union insurance plans. Those union members are a bigger piece of Trump's base than those who are on individual plans.

For 8 years all we heard is "End the individual mandate and Obamacare is gone."

That is absolutely correct. The individual and employer mandates were 95% of the problem.

Lol. Union members are mainly Democrats. The hell union members are a part of Trump’s base. They are Zdemocrats and mostly voted for Zhitlery.

you say you think Trump is in favor of this bill because he needs a win - this bill is not a win, so your logic is off.
